Built by 3rd and 4th grade students from summer school class.
About this creation
We started the week talking abut the pop artist Claes Oldenburg and his reinterpretation of objects at different scales and using different materials. The sized up Lego elements were inspired by Kockice's Scale Up! theme.
Tic Tac Toe Build: In partners, the students were asked to design their own tic tac toe game with a place to store the playing pieces.
Monochrome heads: The students were asked to design a head "as big as their fist" out of only one color. They then traded their head with another student and had to replicate the design as closely as possible.
We also collaborated on our own version of the board game Clue.
What a difference compared to the first posting of summer school MOCs. Your student really improve very fast, but hey, they learn from one of the best (teacher by day, crime fighter by night). Clue (or Cluedo) is obviously very popular among LEGOŽ fans. I started building my version quite some time ago, but like many WIP MOCs, it's covered in dust already. Mine is based on the 1985 movie.
Besides the obvious compliment that these builds are really cool for kids that age, I wanted to say that it is very cool that you take the time to do this for kids. You don't happen to have class in Michigan do you??? My kids would absolutely love to do this!
