It is done, the SHIP is finished!
About this creation
It took me about 3 years to finish it - usually I had only time during the weekends to work on it-, I used countless parts and in some cases it drived me crazy to built it in such a way that as less gaps as possible are visible in those areas I combined different angles with each other.

But it was a lot of fun, so much fun, that I plan to work on a new SHIP.

The size of the SHIP was a challenge, as I had to find a place for the final completion. Originally I planned to finish it in my house in Germany but that ment to stop the project for more than 1 year. Thanks to my wife who did not mind I occupied a bigger area of our living room in our current appartment.

The SHIP is 3,8 m long, approx 1,4 m wide and 0,6 m high.

There is no wooden or steel inner frame used, all is based on Lego. But due to this - to achieve a sufficient stability- it is quite heavy and not possible to move anymore. (BTW the main appatment door is too small in any case :-))

As I will leave my appartment end of this year this means I need to "transform it into single bricks" again.

The shape and some of the structural elements of the SHIP are a homage to several famous space ships. The idea of the main shape comes from the "old" Galactica, parts of the side of the front part from the star destroyers, the bridges from the Invisible Hand. The green park is a homage to the space ship from the movie "Silent Running".

I used several techniques to built it and many moc's I found on Moc Pages were a very good inspiration how to built the SHIP. Therefore thanks to all of you. Mark Kelso's Invisible Hand was basically 3 years ago the initial kick to start the project.

But now enough words, let's move to more pic's which were taken by my collegue Patrick.

As I'm not familiar enough with adjustments of photos as well as have not enough time currently to work on the pics, you may find a mixture of adjusted and not adjusted pic's. Should be better with the comming project :-)

In total I uploaded 49 pic's so you migt find interesting shots also later on this page :-)

Following you find some pic's to give an idea of the size and the shape of the SHIP

The next 5 pic's show some more detailed shots of the SHIP's main body

The following pic's show the engine part of the SHIP with it's main thrusters, greebles etc

Here you see some detailed shots of one of my favorite parts, the upper bridge section with its observatory tower. The idea to built this tower came when I saw Mark's Invisible Hand.

Some shots of the upper lower-bridge area.

Here you see more details of the side ships. They are fixed to the main bodyy of the ShIP only via 2 connection towers and I'm pretty happy they are fixed so well that they donot need any support.

Here are some pic's showing a detailed shot of the main hangar, the Ąparkď which is equipped with trees, some hills and a small pont and some greebles used in the front part of th SHIP.

The last series of pic's shows some area's of the underside of the SHIP. As mentioned before I originally planned to finish it in my house but decided later not to wait for 1 year to continue. Orginally my idea was to display the SHIP on a steelen structure, so it is possible to have a look to the underside as well. So I put also a lot of efforts to the underside. Unfourtunably most of it is not easy to catch with pictures as the SHIP is currently displayed on 2 cupboards. The underside is a combination of different angled parts, hope you can see it a bit.

Hope you have enjoyed it and many thanks for rating.

On YouTube you can watch a video produced by SuperSimperFi.

wow, the size of this thing and the intricate detail at the finest level of lego resolution combine to make this probably the single most impressive labor of love I have ever seen on MOCpages. So was this at your apartment in ShangHai? How did you get bricklink shipments in CHina? I'm curious as I'm getting ready to move there now.

Wow, just wow. This is an amazing ship, I didn't read the description until after I saw it, so my first though was "Galactica" which is my favorite starship in Science-Fiction. You have blown my mind with this. All the little greebles and stuff must have taken forever. Me personally, I would not have the patience to build something like this. My hat goes off to you.

Yeah, that pretty much kicks brick. I like that you gave some detail shots and had so much detail put in this. Usually when I see big MOCs, there are never really any detailed pics that really give me some appreciation. When you pointed out details, I felt like every piece mattered. I would have liked some more pictures of the park though. It feels left out and forgotten since you never showed much of it. Too late now though since you've broken it all down.

I must say that this is truly remarkable. As you did I have just got back into the Lego addiction and finally got around to getting my page up. I have been following your's and Jason C's constructions. This is epic and it is good to see the praise come through. Love if you would check out the start to my first MOC - Herald 1 - Attack cruiser which is listed in Space craft. Thanks for the ideas and I would love to see another big MOC creation from you in the future; cheers, Adam

Where is the better than excellent button when you need it? Although I have seen several of these behemoth ships on this site and usually prefer star wars designs over anything else, this ship has stolen the show. With its literal feet of greebling and the pious attention to detail, this ship has claimed the top slot in my mind for super large warships. Also, I loved the sleekness of it. Because you were willing to incorporate a variety of ship building styles into this, you ended up with a really incredible looking ship. This thing would be swooshable if it wasn't so heavy lol. Almost a shame that you will have to disassemble it. Seems like it should be in a museum or something. Well done.

A-MAZ-ING! This is stellar. I've used those words before on other MOCs, and now I wish I hadn't because I can't think of another word to describe this, and it is in a class all its own. It took seeing the Titan WIP pics for me to see this, and I am dumbfounded. Obviously, this thing is monstrous, but I would be interested to know the stud count. The shaping is perfect, and, being someone who is trying to master the art of the greeble, I don't think I've seen better greebling than this right here. Fantastic work. Stupendous! Magnificent! Splendiferous, even!

Quoting paul yperman If you just started building a couple of years ago, then you are truly a masterbuilder. No words can explain what I feel watching this, but it is the best build I've ever seen and I enjoy watching the pictures over and over again. It is different from anything I have ever seen... Those adorable building techniques. Those details and those 100000parts all put together in a masterpiece. I am truly a fan. I could not take it apart, because it's a once in a lifetime construction. All build in old grays or did you also used the new grays? Congratulations or how do you say this in German; Viel Erfolg.
Thanks for the great comment. I like your buildings very much, they were truely inspiring. The SHIP is built mainly out of old dark and light grey. But as not all needed special-bricks were available in those colors and also the availability of bricks in the old grey shades are limited, I used also partially new bluish dark and light grey. Meanwhile the SHIP is nearly completely dismantled. It took me several weeks, as I have to sort all the bricks and pack them, as I will move my home end of this year. But no worries the planning for a new SHIP in similar size has already started. This one I'm going to display somewhere after finishing.

Quoting Commander Seth SWEET!!! This is an awesome & massive Starship, it must taken forever to build & contain thousands of pieces of Lego. This belongs in a Lego Museum. [MAY THE BRICKS BE WITH YOU]
At the beginning it was one of my idea's, to display it some day somewhere, but as mentioned I have to tear it down. But no worries, I've started already to work on a new SHIP -maybe similar size, who knows where it will end up- and this one I plan to display.

Quoting Sniper Rifle 3.8 m is like 12 feet, as big as my room! If I may ask, what magnitude of investment do models of this size have?
to be honest, no idea, but I guess the bricklink shop owners like me :-)

Quoting J H Truly amazing. Being a free build, I can imagine it was a lot of fun building this ship. It's an immense effort with such a great level of deal. Such as shame you have to break it up, something like this should be displayed publically for everyone to enjoy. It's the kind of thing I could easily spend an hour looking at and taking pictures of. Before you rip it all to pieces, do you think you could take some internal shots? I'd really like to see the framework on which this is built.
The skelett of the SHIP is a combination of normal 8X16 bricks and technic bricks connected to each other.

Quoting Parrington Levens Hahaha, this is frkn awesome! I f I added all my micro scales together they would match this in size or detail, sheesh dude!!! A glorious build, right next to, perhaps above, Corthay and Kelso's efforts. Thanx for sharing... I am of to go and Lego die in a corner somewhere...
Thanks to all of you for the comments

Congradulations, Thomas! I've been waiting for this ship to be done... and now it's here! And she's a beauty! I love the scale, it's so big the details don't even look like Lego, or are blocky. You've put an insane amount of work in here and it shows. Just wow. Hey, whenever you decide to tear it down you'll have a big head-start with pieces for your next SHIP!

Congrats, Dude! It's been fun watching you work on this, and now that it's done, it was certainly worth the wait! With some of your WIP posts, it was difficult to grasp the entire structure, but these pics turned out great. Nice to see the BSG influence there, too. Awesome!

This is phenomenal! What really strikes me is the level of detail, not to mention the colossal proportions. Almost seems like you could actually dock quite a few starfighters in there and still have room to spare.

Truly mindblowing. I can believe in a 3 year dedication to this project. You must have been frantic at work with it in the last stages to completion. Probably cursing away your initial decision of scale and detail along the way too. The result though- all of your pics reveal a different part that would be an awesome moc in its own right. Good job

Quite an impressive build. Despite of your many photos, I feel that much of the goodness is lost due to its sheer size! The shape of the Galactica ship is undeniable, but yours have so many other nice details embeeded in it! Good luck with the move and disassembly...

You should really get some kind of award for this!! Holy creep it's awesome, details, shape, color and the huge investment in parts and time efford is just not to describe. Building techniques are now taken to a hihger level because of You. It could be interresting if You could reveal some of it:-) Do Yourself and all the spectators a favor and send some pictures to the Lego campany, they will be speachless when they see this and hire you as a the designer You are and we need:) Once again space ships in Lego is taken to a new level because of You. Thanks man. Soren, Denmark
