M2 Half Track Car

This was inspired by Christian Collins. He's built a lot of WWII stuff, be sure to check his homepage out if you get the chance. Anyway I made this US half-track in one day, made possible by my newly sorted collection. It is a ton easier to find things in my tubs of organization.

About this creation

The captions are below the pictures they correspond to.

I wanted to go with an american look, so I used the same technique I did when I made my Jeep which you will see in a while. I kind of deviated from the reference pictures I had, but I think it looks good. The windshield is made like a jeeps would be as well...

...which also means that the windshield folds down. The thing on the hood looks good, but I have no idea what the purpose is to tell you the truth. The hood just looked to plain without it.

The back is a little plain, but I made it after the M2 version, which actually did have a rectangular back. Notice the BrickArms clipped onto the side. NEXT!

The treads are megablocks. Say what you want, but it was the only treads that I had, so they went in. It's not like they make it look worse in any way. The wheels are Lego though.

Onto the back. The back is pretty open and has a turret mounted facing the front.

It provides the extra guns it needs to get past infantry.

The trunk with nothing in it.

The ladder folds out to make it easily accessible by troops.

It also goes great with a minigun. Just got a new order of BrickArms. I'll show those later as well.

The main structure is really tough. I dropped it once while taking pictures and only the turret fell off. Alright, that's it for now. I have two more vehicles to post. They will most likely be in the same MOC. I also plan to put these into a WWII comic. Not a series, just a singular story. ~Stay green

Well, I first sorted by bricks, plates, MISC. (being everything else.) Then I sorted by color, and it tends to be easy to find pieces that way without even sorting any father than that. You have to do some searching, but it's the quickest building I've ever done! It just depends what type of builder you are.
