BTAS Batmobile
My first attempt at the 1990s animated Batmobile. The canopy slides forward on two technic bars to reveal a cockpit suitable for the Batman minifig.
About this creation
A follow-up to my previous Batmobile. This time I've decided to give the ol' BTAS Batmobile a go. The streamlined look of the 1990s animated series made this project come together relatively smoothly. Still, no build is without its bumps, and the BTAS Batmobile is no exception.

Getting the canopy to slide forward on this car proved considerably more challenging than it had with my previous Batmobile. I wanted the canopy to slide smoothly forward without creating a noticeable ridge on the surface of the car (studs aside). To achieve this, I spent a bit of time fiddling with a slide mechanism that allows the canopy to lift up 1 plate before sliding forward on 2 technic bars. Fortunately, the mechanism works quite well, allowing for Batman's easy entry/exit from the cockpit.

As always, comments are welcome

This Batmobile is a beast. A bonafide dear-killing, granny-crushing monster!

The canopy slides forward to allow our pint-sized Dark Knight into his long-nosed ride.

Bley. Yes, this is my first MOC to actually use bley instead of grey. I needed to match the car to the Batsuit.

   The prosterior is bley too.

Batman fights crime... but not global warming. This thing must be one hell of a gas guzzler!

Very little SNOT was used in the creation of this MOC. A few hinges were needed though.

   Open canopy.

Yes, this beast is 10 studs wide. In the LEGO world, this thing is bigger than a train! Environmentalists; eat your hearts out.

   It's also 32 studs long.

With the hood removed, you can sort of see the slide mechanism for the canopy.

Batman v. Batman! Burton v. BTAS! Cool.

The cockpit is on a set of technic bars. It lifts up slightly and slides over the hood. Setting up a similar mechanism shouldn't be too difficult.
