The primary surveyor craft of the Resource and Salvage Consortium, Anglers find themselves on nearly all Consortium ships.
About this creation
Corporation: Resource and Salvage Consortium
Homeworld: Verdic, RaS Consortium Claim world

Anglers are small, single pilot craft used by the RaS Consortium for medium range surveying. These hardy craft often find themselves aboard Consortium craft such as Lamprey mining rigs, larger Salvage ships, and many other resource ships employed by the Consortium. Because of their size, they are cheap and easier to procure than full surveyor ships, making the craft of choice when looking for that big score.

One of the Angler's most striking features are its twin oversized engines. Anglers are designed to get to their survey points quickly, make their scans, and then move onto the next location. This also accomdates the Angler's heavier armor, designed to take impacts from debris while in transit, and while posted in scans.

On the underbelly is located the surveyor package. While this section can vary greatly, depending on the type and range of the survey being conducted, most equipment falls within standard operating protocols. Most often, this includes a medium to long range spectometer, which can read types of minerals, metals and gases based on the wavelengths of infrared to ultraviolet light that is reflected back. In addition to this, a large communications array, that also doubles as a radio radar. Ususally, located right behind the Spectometer is a rack of six survey markers, which are used to mark resource rich areas, derelict vessels to be salvaged, and even to warn of dangerous zones. These are ejected directly out the rear to their designataed locations.

Anglers have a very compact design, which allows them to be easily carried on larger craft. They do have a small starjump drive, which allows them to make small emergency jumps to known safe zones, though this is general a last resort. The Angler's compact design also hleps make these craft cheap and easily produced, meaning that they are relatively easy to procure, and it is no surprise to see pirate groups using Consortium Anglers for surveying trade routes and Civilian shipping lanes.

While the cockpit is cramped, it does come complete with life support capability for up to 36 hours before being required to return to baese for maintenance and resupply, as well as giving the pilot much needed time away from the cockpit. Unfotunately, comfort was not exactly a major design parameter, and as such, Angler pilots are often paid well for their trouble. And the vibrations of the engines have been known to cause some adverse side effects to prolonged exposure.
CULTURAL NOTE:
While the Consortium's fleet consists mostly of a motley group of salvage ships, mining rigs, and independant contractors, Anglers are one the primary standardized ships, and can be seen with just about any Consortium fleet in large numbers. Some of these craft have even been armed, though to do so is consdiered a breach of protocol. Many independant contractors who own their own Angler craft can be hired by other corporations to complete tasks, who then pay a subsidy to the Consortium for their license fees and dues. The best Angler pilots can get by nicely on two surveys a month, while most must complete around 12 trips to make ends meet.

Another great one. What I like about your creations is this simple, sometimes anime-like look! No too difficult building techniques and still awesome looking, thatīs great! ~Marc
I appreciate the positive feedback. Sometimes, I think people get big ideas for their builds and overcomplicate them. I like to try to streamline my builds for simplicity. |

Well done, it's got that all-function, no style look to it but the functional stuff actually makes it stylish! Good work!
Thanks. Most Consortium stuff is utilitarian, but in an odd sort of way. Next I'll be making a salvage rig. That'll be interesting. |

Great looking ship. I reaaly like the design of it. It has a very unique look. I would like to see a militarized version of it. Excellent build
Ey, well, a militarized is considered... "illegal". Why, who would ever want an illegally armed craft? Quick, hide the pirates! |

I love your build, but the stories and background you give each is what really make your builds unique!
To be honest, I feel that the back story is just as important as the build itself. It's through the backstory that you discover the build's purpose. If the build is from another existance, than the backstory is a window into the existance. |

cover pic looks nice, great angle, that's the greatest thing about LDD, the angles you can get...
Thanks. That's another hidden perk of LDD. The great photo angles you can get from it. |

Although I love all of these, you need to get back to AEGAKs I am going through withdrawal.
Alas, such awesomeness takes money, something I'm rather short of lately. I have things that must be taken care of, but hopefully, I'll have some new builds for you all soon. I've got a great little one that's gonna fly high. |

I love the effects you add.
>w> nice use of a "pilot block" *cough cough*
I think the surveyor needs a turntable to rotate 360 around it and be put on a hinge to make the clearance under the engines. |
