About this creation
Yes, go look at my name. Someone even less popular. That's a joke. So is this situation. For quite a while here I've been wondering what exactly makes you popular and get creations on most disscussed. It took me a long time to get the answer. But firs, some of the things that WERN'T the answer: First, I thought it was all up to how good you are. So I tryed really hard, to no avail. Second, I thought if you made their self MOC, they would fave you. So I started making EVERYONE'S self MOC (and still am). Even more dissapointment, a few, such as callan lord of fire, commented on that and kept on commenting on my creations.Which is really nice of them. Most, such as cheesy Q, commented on their self MOC and nothing else.Which is understandable. One or two, like adam toh, didn't even bother checking.Which is Just Plain Rude. After that, I thought It was all up to how custom your self MOC is. Again, no avail. So I put it down to one thing: Spammers. I don't just mean ninja poop and co, I mean everyday comments, the sort you just slap up: Great! Brill! Epic! Nice work! The sort that give the creator little or no feedback. So, for now on, At least on my creations and try to remember to do this on everybody else's: comment constructivly. Thank you.

Phos and Callan are right, but if you focus on popularity, you will forget what your on the web,to make friends.Sure,it's nice for you to get likes and for you to get known for but if you miss your friends, there's no one to talk to you.Your friends give you the help you need on MOCs.They also cheer you up when you're feeling down.Really, you should delete this page.I think you should have known this by now.(Sorry if I sound mean)
yes, i do know it but i don't like deleting pages. Look, this was really just a thing to lower the numbers of spammers.

You have this all wrong. Mocpages isn't about popularity. Sure it's nice to have lots of likes and commenting and posting self mods will get you better known but people generally comment on creations that show skill or something eye catching. Now not to be mean or rude but your moving skills are still developing and trying to leap into custom stuff without allowing your skills to develop the rest of your moving skills. People like Cossy or Callan have styles. Cossys mocs are very bulky and detailed. Callans are simple but have fantastic concepts. I suggest you take down this page and focus on making better mocs and not populairity.
Hmm...Well if you say so... But I won't tear down the page. I do know my MOCs arn't that developed yet, and are still developing, but If i tear down this page no-one will be able to appreciate your speil. I know what you mean but i don't really have a style that i can see, especially my self MOCs. But yeah, i'll take your advice . |

Yes, but like I just said. I'm going to be honest. It didnt seem like you put much effort into the self-MOCs. Plus, you didn't tell me where to find him and that you even built him.
Ok, i'm going to be honest, i didn't back then, and you did have it up on your page in red writing: DON'T ASK ME TO LOOK AT A MOC! and i count telling someone about something as asking them to look at it. Look, can we come to an arrangement? Like me upgrading dystrax and putting effort into him and you start looking at mine? |

You are right that spam is a lot of what makes some mocs popular, I have to agree with Phos that Mocpages isn't about being popular. Just keep going, do your best, and eventually you might get popularity as a bonus.
Ok, yeah, thanks! |

I agree with Phos' and Callan. I started a long time ago and i am STILL not very well known. I have made ALOT of Self-Mocs and they don't get many comments. I, like Adam Toh, only comment on things that show skill, detail, effort, and time. I wont comment on something with bad pics, that only took 5-10 minutes to build, cuz that's just lazy! But that wont stop me from LOOKING at them. There are alot of Mocs that are HUGE, but i made no attempt to comment on them for a couple of reasons: 1. Presentation: Don't build something great and then take bad pics of it, try using different cameras and lighting and angles to capture the Build. 2. Effort: I have seen very little Mocs, mostly Self-Mocs, that are okay but only 5-10 minutes were put into it. I enjoy viewing Mocs that i know took a long time to plan, design, and build. 3. Idea: Mocs with a clever idea (or 2!) are usually fun to look at and comment on. For example, The Bio- Cup Theme is "Behold the Power!" and someone (forget who) took those words and used ELECTRICITY as power to create a unique idea and a take on an idea to make a completely new and unique idea that someone else probably wouldn't have thought of.
Bottom Line: Dont use ideas that have already been used. Try something new and try to use new building ideas, whether it be design-wise or thought-wise.
Whoa. Long speech. I'll take the advice.Still, part of the reason you're not well known is that you don't comment on much. |

Having good creations isn't everything you need to be famous- although it plays a big part. i mean, look at Gringat the Repungant! He's the best MOCcer on the website, and he isn't as well known as, say, Ben Cossy. I'm not that well known, but I think a big part of being popular is commenting on a ton of stuff, not necccasarily bilding lot of self-MOCs. Cheesy Q, for instance, is pretty popular and hasn't built that many self-MOCs. I mean, if you build every single MOC on MOCpages, then yes, you will be famous. And like Legofreak said below me, nobody wants to favorite a MOCcer who adds totally un-custom creations and has blurry pics. Your camera is fine, but others, who shall remain unnamed, have terrible pics. And I know what you mean about the comments that are onnly one word- I hate that. I always make sure to have a longer comment, usually about three lines. And you would expect people to fave you if you build your self-MOC, but NOOOOO! Isn't it annoying?
That. Was a great long comment, thank you. |

Well, I think frantically making loads of people's Self-MOCs is not the best, because if you want to get them up quick then you rush the build and it looks bad. What I would suggest is taking time in your MOCs, perhaps even taking many apart and start fresh. What I do is just try to play it cool and, the strategy I used early on is comment on a person's MOCs alot. I fact, that's how Ben Cossy Fav'd me. He noticed me commenting alot and he checked out my stuff. That's a good way to do it. ~LegoBob

Hmm...I have to disagree. It's not about making people's Self-MOCs, it's about quality and presentation. It's how good your creations are, and how good the pictures are. No on wants to "fav" a MOCer who posts little Matoran/Agori build creations with fuzzy pictures. Do your best to take pictures, if you need help or advice for picture taking, ask somebody. As for building quality MOCs, if you have to use an Inika torso or an Agori torso, which you can avoid easily, cover it up as much as possible. The whole idea of the customness comes down to originality and imagination.
Again, no one can tell anything by fuzzy images. Just some tips.
Yes, creations and presentation do play a part but I mean that you won't get anyhting on most disscussed with two people commenting criticly, you need lots going : that's great! Thanks! |

But that you should not fight to be more popular just to make better mocs. ,Shadow
Wai, who's story are you talking about? Yes, I thank you, It's just that I notices very few people actually do give advice so that is the main point, don't just say: Great! Say: That's very good but this that and the other are what need working on, etc. :) |
