Robot Veteren Drones
"Before, the drones were simple laborers. They had numbers on their side. Now... They're full killing machines. And they still have numbers on their side." Kenichi, while explaining to General Seino about why he designed the Arkham Prototypes.
About this creation
OVERSEER CLASS DRONE

Mecha One

No one is quite sure what corrupted Mecha One, or why, not even Mecha One. It began when Mecha One and several techs were using an helicraft to inspect power cables along the crucial supplies bridges that connected the 3 sectors of the Sentai Province. During this flight, of which Mecha One's handler, Keiken, was not present, a mechanical malfunction caused the helicraft to lose altitude and plunge into the toxic fog ocean. When Mecha One rebooted, all of the other passengers had died from the toxic fog. Around him lay the shattered remnants of the city of Tokyo. Mecha One was perplexed by the signs of battle, humans killing humans, robots killing humans. All he saw preplexed him more. Two weeks later, Mecha One appeared at the fog retainer wall entrance station. He was hosed down and thoroughly decontaminated him. He said nothing of what he had experienced in the toxic fog ocean. He began to ask odd questions about his purpose and about the past. Keiken did his best to answer, but it was to no avail.

Late one night, Mecha One rallied the drones beneath his command, and rallied the other overseers. Two opposed him and were promptly dispatched, and the drones attacked, seizing the industrial sector, and killing humans, burning factories and homes. It was a year and half before the Robot Rebellion, which would later be called the First Robot War, would be put down, thanks to a development in mecha technology known as the AEGAKS. During this time, Mecha One, not understanding humans fully, killed Keiken's wife and child, seeing them as obstacles to his friend's acceptance of the robot cause. When the killings embittered keiken and caused him to refuse, Mecha One hated humans for being weak and emotional, unaware that he was experiencing rage himself. When the AEGAKS and the Sentai Province Army (SPA) finally destroyed the robot headquarters, Mecha One and 6 of the other overseers where nowhere to be found.

Now that the Second Robot War is being waged, Mecha One has resumed his quest to understand, then exterminate humanity. His new drone forces, far more powerful and destructive, easily took the Industrial Sector from the SPA, and within a year, the Residential Sector had fallen as well. Now Mecha One uses the Agricultural Sector, the last bastion of humanity in the Sentai Province, as a test lab, refining his army and study the human responses.

Mecha Three

Mecha Three can best be described as apathetic. He doesn't much care for anything unless it will threaten his own existance, such as Mecha One's repression of the drone hordes. The night that Mecha One stirred the robot workers into a rebellion, he went along with it because he watched as Mecha One dispatched one of the Overseers that had actually opposed his plan. He doesn't regret that decision in the slightest, since it preserved his own existance.

Mecha Three sees humans as destructive rodents that will eventually seal their own doom. He sees no rush to exterminate them, as other Overseers would see done. As long as they do not threaten him, then let them kill each other, is his reasoning.

Since the beginning of the Second Robot War, Mecha Three has watched as Mecha One has further repressed the drones, making them little more than smart machines and his willing servants. Mecha Three purposefully acts loyal for his own sake, but with the newer drones being loyal to strictly Mecha One, and Three's own forces dwindling, he was forced to act, and withdrew from the Drone Hordes, now a fugitive on the run.

Mecha Nine

Mecha Nine is actually a very nice personality. He is the kindest of the Overseers, and has a strong sense of what should be right and what should be wrong. He fully intended to oppose Mecha One the night of the Rebellion, but fell in line when he saw the Overseer dispatched for opposition. The majority of the Overseers supported Mecha One, and so he didn't stand up for his beliefs. Nine has always regreted this, and when further AI limiters were imposed, he and his dwindling forces attempted to defect to cautious human forces.

Mecha Nine sees hope for the future in humankind. He has witnessed much kindness from them and has always admired their ability to stay positive and keep moving foreward despite harsh conditions. Nine has even taken care to let the most humans escape from combat zones, ordering his forces to not kill unless there was no other choice. Mecha One tolerated this, since he used the experiences to study the humans and their ability to rebound from defeat.

Since the beginning of the Second Robot War, Mecha Nine has been slowly setting up opportunity for defection. While secretly at first, a confrontation with Mecha Seven blew his plans wide open, and Mecha Nine was forced to flee at the same time that Mecha Three fled. He pleaded with Three to join him to help the humans, but Three refused, saying he would rather take his chances on his own. Nine is still not fully trusted, but his meager forces aide the humans in the fight against MEcha One.

SENTINEL CLASS DRONE

Sentinel class infantry drones are drone veterens from the First Robot War that most fervently supported Mecha One. These drones were given the least amount of AI limiters, and their bodies are almost as powerful as the Overseers. These loyal soldiers act as personal bodyguards for Mecha One, as well as his personal executioners.

Sentinels are equiped with a pair of cannons for heavy firepower, and can destroy most drones with a single hit, should they step out of line. Their armor is standard, and blocky in comparision to the Overseers, but they are fast and agile, and feared on the battlefield. They only take the field when something needs to be "ensured" or when Mecha One himself is present.

These drones have absolutely no qualms about killing humans and will ruthlessly extinguish all humans they come across. In fact, sometimes their zeal is so much so, that Mecha One must actually hold them back. The only limiters they have allow him to order them to comply with his orders should they get out of hand.

VETEREN ASSAULT INFANTRY DRONE

These drones are the standard heavy infantry on the battlefield. They are equipped with four gatling guns and a pair of leg mounted rockets for dealing with any Gosans that come their way. Most Veterens serve as captains for basic infantry units, or in assualt units made up of veterns.

When serving in assault units, Veterens most often serve in groups of 15. These fast, mobile groups can overwhelm human defense points while basic infantry keep the human defenders suppress and unable to return heavy fire. Unlike the basic infantry, Veterens can not fit into human sized spaces, meaning they can't enter basic sized buildings.

These drones have a variety of dispostions, very much like human soldiers. Some will be forced to endure further limiters, while other will be elevated for their loyalty to Mecha One. Not many Veterns have survived this long into the Second Robot War.

Color serves little purpose for the drones. Basic infantry can not see color as it takes more space than necesary. Veterans tend to color themselves as ways to show individuality, though not too much lest they attract the attention of strict loyals to Mecha One.

Seen here, a blue colored Veteren as opposed to the red colored above.

VETEREN HEAVY ASSAULT INFANTRY DRONE

Heavy Assault Veterens are equipped with even more rockets, in addition to larger ammunition stores on their gatlings. They armor is even heavier, and are only selected from loyals to MEcha One. They are allowed more individuality than Assault Veterens, but not quite as much as Sentinels.

Here is a shot of the three variants that I have designed. These are all heavily inspired by Octavian's Mecha 12, which was awesome, by the way, you should go check it out!

Hope you like these as much as I did!

Quoting Gearmaster Nathan WoW! I love it when people make set themed MOCs which are WAAY cooler than the actual sets.
Thanks, though you really ought to be saying that to Octavian. It was his model that inspired me.

Quoting Liam Covey Awesome stuff, the heavy drone was my favorite. I do have a question, though. Can the Devastators be removed from the drone bodies, or are they permanently installed in the body?
The bodies are permanently installed, though they can be installed into larger frames as well. Though most veterens prefer this form most.

Quoting andros tempest I love these. The chunky yet sleek feel is just brilliant. I may need to have a go at upgrading some robots.
Sounds like fun. I look foreward to seeing what you have come up with.

Quoting Mithryl Dlarix I've tried for many, many years (with real lego and LDD) to do transforming mecha, and every time they have been a total and utter disaster. They always look good in one mode and crappy in another, and looking around MOCpages, even the so-called "masters" of making lego transformers run into this difficulty. I'd rather do a model right, with all of its features and gimmicks and poseability than do a transformer that only accomplishes some of these things. Of, course when you have to include a cockpit for a minifig, these problems only multiply--and I won't be building unmanned mecha in this lifetime ;) So, I probably won't be doing Macross mecha any time soon, because I wouldn't be able to do them justice and I just wouldn't be happy with the shortcomings of the model I would ultimately make. I will leave it up to people who are more skilled than I, I'm afraid.
There are more types of mecha than variable. Try the Master's Bioroids. I think you would enjoy them.

Quoting CEO Luiz Camargo Great units, Mecha One looks fearsome! Great units, I just wonder If my commanders (Har-Mageddon and the unposted GEHEN)can fit in this line.
Of course they do. These are just infantry. There are other drone veterns who are built into larger bodies, one of them being your Har-Meggeddon. So, they fit nicely.

Quoting Mithryl Dlarix Neat story! And cool drones. I sort of thought that Mecha One would have a bit more gold on him.
Not yet... Thanks. The story's not dead, I'm just been on a break from it, partially part-deficit induced.

I've read the story of Mechas and I like it. You have very good setting, and, despite of the fact that I don't know it well, it's almost awesome. and those models are excellent, my best is a Sentinel Veteran in blue.
