This is a 1957 Seagrave Model 900-B 70th Anniversary Series Pumper. It has a 1000 gpm pump and a 200 gallon water tank. It is powered by a big 300 hp Seagrave V-12 gasoline engine. It has a 174 inch wheelbase.

About this creation

The 70th Anniversary Series is unmistakable with its grill of twin horizontal bars and the siren mounted prominently in its nose. It was introduced by Seagrave in 1951 to mark the company's 70th Anniversary in the fire apparatus business. The 70th Anniversary Series was manufactured between 1951 and 1970. It was used for pumpers, service aerials and tractor drawn aerials as well as many other types of apparatus. Over 1600 units of the 70th Anniversary Series were built.

The sedan style canopy cab allowed for seating of seven firefighters. The rear facing bench seat was accessible via a walkway through the hose bed. This offered a significant improvement in safety by getting firefighters off of the rear step of the apparatus. It was introduced by Seagrave in 1937.

Seagrave Fire Apparatus is the oldest' continuous manufacturer of fire apparatus in North America. Seagrave was founded in Detroit 1881 by Frederic Scott Seagrave, a Massachusetts native. In 1891 the business was moved to Columbus, Ohio. When FWD purchased Seagrave in 1963 production was moved to Clintonville, Wisconsin. Awsome rig. I really love the old rigs, the dept. i am an explorer with has a 1948 international pumper and i love seeing it but it will be a while because it is being refurbished. Great job on your rigs
