About this creation
This is my remake of my older creation "Bethany". I went over each and every section and improved everything I could manage. The joints are way more stable and secure. The anatomy is a vast improvement. And the techniques are nearly all new.
She is FULLY pose-able. The hand itself is a brand new design that allows for full mobility of each finger and the wrists (more on the hand design later). The foot also has the full range of a real foot. The skate design comes from the manga, Air Gear, if anyone was curious.
Time: over 2 weeks. If I were to make this again, exactly the same, from scratch, it would take about 8-10 hours. It was very hard to build even when I knew what I was doing.
This is definitely coming with me to Brickfair.
Here are the pictures of some poses.
Here is the hair. The only piece not attached it the loop in the bangs. It stays in place due to entrapment and friction. A clever lever placement keeps the bangs from moving around. I've shown the technique for the visors in the bun here.
I downloaded a large picture. It should be clear enough to grasp the technique. 4 levers are placed in the visor hole first. Then a half pin is inserted with 2 levers on either side (one lever pointing in the opposite direction). Then a hose head with a minifig hand through it goes into the half pin to keep it securely in place. This hand will not fall apart (not easily at least). Taking it apart is a pain too. I used rigid hose for the thumb and soft hose for the knuckles.

She should be holding a pokeball :D
Words can't describe this, when I first saw it I was speechless, the shape, the colours, it's all done so well, brilliantly put together, well done. I couldn't help but notice in your last pic of the exploded hand is that a customised piece?
Only the tubing is cut. The rest of the pieces are untouched.

You must upload instructions to the whole gal. I want to make something like this if i can. May I?
Instruction for this are impossible and I'm not willing to make them. If you can build anything like this, go for it. You don't need my permission. |

There's a strange sensation you get every once in a while when you see a MOC's thumbnail and you cannot believe it's the Legos you know and love. That just happened to me. Phenominally innovative.

You got to use glue mate.Really.I mean, how else is this possible? As Johann said, this is truly extraordinary, never seen no one do anything like this but you.
Nope, no glue. My style is quite unique. I've never seen anyone build similarly. |
|
|
I'm sure you know this by now, but this is awesome! Do you come up with these building techniques randomly, or what? |

|
WOW. This totally blows me away - heck, I think I'm in LOVE!! - Seriously, this is definitely in the category of Brick-building ART, my man. The poseability, the color scheme, the sheer sleek'n'sexy look of this mecha-doll are indeed over the top! The hair is truly stunning- great work here. I'm hearing the strains of that old Dire Straits tune, "Rollergirl, don't worry- the DJ plays the movies all night long..." - you know, I think I saw her skating by me one evening on my last trip to Amsterdam. - Huss Q. |

Epic. The way it looks soo cartoony and anime, and realism put into this moc.... speechless! This is truly an amazing work of art, and with those unique and extremely complex designs and you did it in only 10 hours! This is something that would take me about 30 hours just to figure out how to make stuff and find the pieces! The minifig helmets as shoulders are a nice touch. Truly amazing, show any anime fan or bionicle/ lego builder and they will flip! Truly amazing, if anyone gives you lower than a 5 they are just jealous of this epic awesome art.
This took me way longer than 10 hours. I said it would take me 10 hours to remake if I had all the same pieces and knew needed to do. For example, if I were to follow step by step instructions, this would take me 10 hours to make simply because of the complexity. |
