Early on in the development of the Metal Legion, before the diaspora of humankind into the galaxy, scientists at the Oak Ridge Labs on Old Earth developed a breakthrough in gravity based technology. The new field theory that resulted led to many practical uses and developments from micro-gravity generation to intense gravity fields small enough to fit in the palm of a child's hand. Several applied sciences resulted including the first gravity plate that could create an artificial gravity field as well as hydrogen based fusion reactors that were small enough to fit into vehicles (although the requirement for large amounts of water limited the size of vehicle).
Many prototypes were developed at this time but only one prototype saw production albeit on a limited scale and budget. The MLCC prototype cargo carrier was the first full scale vessel to not only find use in the early history of the Metal Legion, but served admirably in battlefields across the face of Old Earth. Carrying a fusion reactor (itself a prototype), five shearing type gravity plates (also prototypes) and designed after the WW2 landing craft used on the beaches of Normandy as well as the Pacific theater, this fast, long-ranged and powerfully armed carrier could deliver supplies, men and vehicles to any landing zone necessary.
Weapons included two ball type turrets located on each side of the craft, a twin mounted rotating turret mounted on top of the craft and two twin auto-cannon employed in the loading face.
The Knoxville, Chattanooga, Morristown and venerable Oak Ridge were the most famous of the MLCC vehicles.
The MLCC saw service at some level up until just a few years prior to the diaspora from Earth and the mass colonizations that followed the invention of the stellar gravity-drive. The gravity drive developments can be traced back to the technology introduced by the Oak Ridge Labs efforts and the MLCC prototypes, a history that built the foundation for man to live amongst the stars just as the Metal Legion has given us the freedom and protection to live in order and peace.
Long live the Legion!

Really Enjoy your builds. The modular style is really fresh and versatile. Lots of smooth lines and little details that really make the MOC! |

You are currently a member of the Metal Legion Recruiting Command. This notice is provided to help members remain in the group, and is not intended to be a form of pestering or harassment. MLRC is going to battle, again, and your participation by group members is crucial. The name of the battle (it’s a group) is CONTACT BRAVO ONE. The battle will run from 1 AUG 2011 to 31 AUG 2011. If you have never posted on MLRC, and you have not posted in this battle by 31 AUG, then you will be dropped from MLRC. This would be a shame, because your building talent and creativity are the life blood of the MLRC. How do you post an entry in CONTACT BRAVO ONE?
First, you need to post a Garrison, or a Militia squad on MLRC. Go to this link and follow the instructions:
http://www.mocpages.com/group_conversation.php?id=16812&topicid=67443
Then join the group CONTACT BRAVO ONE at this link, and again follow the instructions: http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/17909
You must complete both steps, and you must do them in the order listed.
Right now, most of MLRC members are inactive, and this does nothing to help the members who are active. The purpose of the site is to help active group members to become better builders and better communicators. I am glad you joined the MLRC, but joining only got you to the door. Step in or step out. Either way, thank you for your attention in this matter.
Build! Post! Review! Attack!

This looks really versatile, so the question is: It can haul butt, but can it haul a**?? Lots of room inside. You can even do your laundry! Seriously, really great build. It should come in handy on the mission. Can I borrow it sometime to drop me some MREs?
Yep, hauled some donkeys over to North Carolina...oh, never mind. And the MLCC with their three crew members are available as needed for deliveries, infiltration, ex-filtration, and in most any weather except thunderstorms, something to do with magnetic fields and radiation induced from the lightning -- or something.

will these be available to all metal legion units or just yours for use?
In the ML history, these were in use before humans left Earth. They were prototypes and only had limited production but the few that existed were used planetwide. |

Yes that is the drop bay main door and the Command Module in front with the Advanced Medical Module behind it! This thing is a C-5 type MONSTER! |
