LAT "Metal Militia" 44
This build was dedicated for my Alloy Strike Contest build. Some inspirations: Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, Reach and Halo wars. U.S. Marines, U.S. ARMY, Star Wars and Google =). Static Transmission Begins: Highly classified material in reviewing. Top secret clearance required. DO NOT READ IF NOT A T.S. CLEARANCE! Data concerning the latest review of the LAT 44. Approval is needed to continue a military presence in the South West North American Continent.
About this creation

The LAT 44 “Metal Militia” was used in the recent campaign Alloy Strike. The LAT 44 is equipped with an all terrain suspension with 18 independent shocks and struts. The 30 degree pitch of the wheel base allows optimum tire grip. What it doesn’t smash through, it will climb right over.

The turret has a reinforced armor plating to protect its sensitive areas on the barrel. The turret traverses up and down and has a 360 degree view of the battlefield. The tank could carry a squad of Metal Legion commandos on the outside of the tank.

The latest Global Positioning system is installed giving its position to every Metal Legion outpost. This is ideal to prevent theft or loss. The tank is always under some sort of surveillance. If it were to be stolen the tank can be shut down remotely from inside the engine. Jamming the signal is nearly impossible.

Reinforced Halogen lights the way at night.

The pilots’ seat, which is in the rear section. The gunners’ seat, which is in the middle section. Each station has a retractable screen that displays the battlefield before their eyes.

The tank is operated by a crew of two Metal Legion mech drivers. One guns while the other runs. Not running away but more or so running the tanks direction and coarse. The cockpit consists of two stations.

The turret consists of the major ordnance. The main gun is 80 mm dual plasma cannon. Also flanked by .50 cal Machine guns with extended cooling fins. The guns may fire simultaneously together or one by one, however the gunner chooses to destroy his opponent.

The tank can navigate several ways. The GPS like we discussed earlier. Five mounted driving cameras. Four are located on the turret its self and one on the rear to provide eyes in the back of your head.

I really like the angled wheels. It's an interesting design choice, though I feel like the whole thing needs to be shorter for the look to really work. Great job overall, though.

very good, the layout and the tilted side tracks are something I've never seen before. It looks so big on the main pic that I almost was dissapointed when I saw that it was smaller than I thought :P. Great work anyways! Would you want to make a comment on my Ogre MKII tanks, because I would like to know what other good builders think of it. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/277678

Quoting The Pied Pauper $$ This looked great in your Alloy Strike entry, and I'm glad to be getting a better look at it. I really like all the little details you included. I do see one point of concern to me, though. Where the turret connects to the body, it seems a bit too exposed and a point where a good shot from a heavy laser could cause some major damage. Just a thought. And I'd hate to have to fill in the ruts left behind by those wheels!
Ah yes I can see your point. I think the back is covered but that still leaves the sides and front. Thanks for pointing it out for me. I'll remember to add more armor.

I have come back to look at this several times as I like elements of it but there is something "not right" and I can't figure it out. Mike may have hit on it regards the high profile but even at that I am not sure. I know I want to like it and there are certainly elements and details worthy of comment, but I just keep being put off by something. Maybe it is just me...

The way the wheels are angled on the road surface is very interesting. Your road wheels are really ROAD wheels. I like it. My favorite part though are the coax 50 cals. The detail of the sensors on the gun barrels is quite impressive. I like the gun "Cluster" that the turret supports. As always, your MOC is well photographed and well displayed. If I had a gripe, it would probably be the height of the vehicles profile. She’s a tall one. Maybe the turret could ride closer to the main hull? Still, it's a beast. Attack!

Thanx Mark! I tried to make my pilots as best as the ones used in examples. I hope they can pass.
