My Metal Legion Maryland Garrison is finally ready for action! And as an extra bit of fun, all four soldiers are named after movie characters with specific references to those characters in their bios and quotes. Can you figure out all four movies?

Name: Col. Andrew Tanner
Bio: Retired Air Force pilot. Retired shortly after getting shot down. It was five to one. He got four...

Heavy Artillary
Name: John Matrix
Bio: Tried to retired from the Special Forces, but has been pulled back into service by the Metal Legion.
Quote: "Somewhere, somehow, someone's going to pay..."
Infiltration Specialist
Name: Edgar Friendly
Bio: Led a group of resistance fighters against an oppressor bent on seeing them starve to death.
Quote: "I'm into freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I'm the kind of guy who likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, 'Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?' Bio: Retired Russian Submarine Captain that defected to the United States and is now working for the Metal Legion. Known for suddenly turning around to see if someone is behind him.

Commander Pauper. You have been added to the Garrison Commanders List. Way to enter the brotherhood of metal leaders! Humor is one of the strongest metals I know. A good suit of that stuff, (when combined with sound training, and focused effort) and you are darn near unstoppable on these plastic battlefields. The movie tie-ins were a totally unexpected delight. I am happy to report that I was able to identify each of the quotes. Nike favors the commander who thinks outside the box. Maryland is secure! Ah-ha! You did get three of the four, but Matrix is not correct. Red Dawn, Demolition Man, and Hunt for Red October is correct. |
