Unintended Consequences Part 3
In the spirit of the story of G.A.I.A., and with Parrington Levens' blessing, I start this 3rd chapter thus.
About this creation
Captain Kodura Hethel
Personal Log
Date: REDACTED

Since the unfortunate and unexpected accident, the maintenance crews have been working at full pace to repair the damage to the Defiant Justice. The resulting blast blew out the hangar, and some of the dormatories, so the pilots are having to pull some of their duty hours jusr sitting in their fighters, which at still fixed to the belly of the Defiant Justice.

Now that the Daphne has arrived, I am sure our repairs will be quickly done. Not only that, but the sensor ghost that had been shadowing us appears to have left, most likely not wanting to have to deal with one of G.A.I.A.'s mightiest ships. I was rather disappointed to hear that the fighter ace, Tanya Roberts was not currently aboard, I had wanted to meet her. Ah well, such is the price of duty.

Good news from the analysts. They seem to have figured out the encryptions, and were estatic to find that the currpted data wasn't exactly corrupted fully. Within the confines, they found a partial artificial intelligence, as well as several files regarding the ship, Austere Gloria, and its mission. It would seem that the Austere Gloria had been equipped for escort duty for a heavily guarded convoy. The manifests are sketchy at best, but from what we can tell, the most important shipment was something called Biocetene crystals, whatever those are.

The analysts attempted to bring what they could of the AI back online, in an attempt to get some answers, but it kept saying things in an odd language. It sounds like english, but the words are gibberish. The only thing it appears able to say is "Core", if that's what it is saying at all. Further data appears to be heavily encrypted, and the analysts say that they will need the AI's permission to do anything else.

The female pilot has also regained her conciousness. At first, she reacted violently, but quickly regained herself, and has mostly kept to herself, and not spoken to anyone, even the medical crew. I had her brought to my wardroom for questioning in an environment in which I hope will not be seen as threatening. The following is a small cut of the dialogue that resulted.

Captain Hethel: "Hello, my name is Kodura Hethel. I am captain of this ship. What is your name?"

Pilot: Unintellegible

Captain Hethel: "Do you speak english? Or we could try to set up a translator."

Pilot: Unintellegible... "Core"... Unintellegible

Captain Hethel: "Core? What is that?"

Pilot: "Lt. Talira Yadalnoi, ESC Security Forces, K6874-32A."

End Recording Clip

Aside from the fact that apparently she speaks perfect english, she will only reply in her name, rank, and ID number. But now we know that apparently these people refer to English as "Core". This information has been relayed to the analysts.

--To Vice-Admiral Kurt Helstrom of the Death-Bridge.

Sir, I trust the campaign is progressing well? The Daphne arrived on schedule and we have since begun emergency repairs on the Defiant Justice. I am pleased to report that the female patient has awakened, though only for mere minutes. She was very disoriented, and even attempted to attack the medical staff, but due to her weakened state, the doctors were able to sedate her. We expect to be able to extract information, aside from her name, rank and serial number, from her within a few days.

The technicians have confirmed that our fuel will not work with the engine systems of the wreckage, so they have shelved that project for now. The data specialist team has managed to decode more of the partial data that was recovered. This ship, the "Austere Gloria" was on patrol for a rival called Zeshran when they were attacked, the data does not identify. From what little that could be determined, sir, it could be, but is highly unlikely, that Draggonne forces that was responsible for this site. I will foreward all relevant data in form of appendum.

I must rely my deepest apologies. My orders were to rendevous with your task force after my previous assignment's completion. Along our vector, we found UBZ1a, and High Command reassigned us to study it. Then you had to reduce your number to aide us. Please forgive my mishandling of the situation, sir.

I expect the Daphne to be returning to your taskforce within 72 standard Earth hours. You have my gratitude. I wish your well in your campaign, sir.

Long live GAIA!

Captain Kodura Hethel of the Defiant Justice--

Personal Log Entry Ends.

"Rythar's Victory to Fleet Command, what is your ETA, over?"

"Fleet Command to Rythar's Victory, we'll be there in a few minutes. What, can't handle a single frigate sized ship? You know that you're going to get a demotion for incompetence."

"Fleet Command, it is no longer a single ship. There appears to be a large carrier sized ship with them as well."

"Very well then. They won't even know what hit them..."

CREDITS:

Thanks to Parrington, who was gracious enough to allow me to use his photos and his ship, the Daphne for my story. I promise next episode that there will be fireworks. Lots and lots of fireworks.

Quoting Parrington Levens Man I love the BAbylon 5 feel this has to it, LDD seems to go well with some shopping, neat man, love that power room and that interview room, this Moc is just the way a Moc should be mate, exterior shots, interior shots, mini-figs, story, and fighters in space also. Perfect, I sense trouble afoot... p.s. a real shame clone on a plate Mocs are getting more views than our scripted and structured story based, multi build Mocs, but hey, that's what makes makes us hardcore! lol, Long live GAIA!!!
Thanks. I'm really looking foreward to the next bout, it will be fun. As for the clone on the plates, it's just that everyone else who has a clone on a plate comments, so they don't feel bad about not putting much effort into it.
