The Dusk Dragon is a private fighter/transport used by the "Dusk Forge" rebels.
About this creation
The Dusk Dragon is a private gunship flown for the rebel alliance mockery known as the “Dusk Forge”. The Dragon was designed by Adam Veron, an engineer who spent time working for the military superpower of the Dawn Forge. Veron was the lead engineer on the DF’s SAPPHIRE Assault Ship; after witnessing the success of the SAPPHIRE, the Dawn Forge let Veron go to cut out unneeded waste. Veron’s SAPPHIRE has been mass-produced and now controls the skies wherever the fleets roam.

Veron sought out the unorganized Dusk Forge and pleaded for a portion of their diminished funds to create a ship that can take down his golden birds. The ever-growing Dusk Forge produced a single Dragon due to the lack of resources, at which point Veron destroyed his paper-based designs, ensuring that this ship could never be used against him.
Here we see the primary engine providing thrust for the Dragon. There are two additional thrusters, one on each dorsal wing, for increased power and maneuverability.

The Dusk Dragon is becoming an urban legend among the Dawn Forge. Not many soldiers have witnessed its attacks and survived, and the Dragon’s reputation is only amplified by its elusive, sporadic attacks.

It’s animal-like streamlined design makes the Dusk Dragon an agile, powerful ship, despite the extra weight from the thick titanium armor covering its entire body.

The head is not as aerodynamic as one would wish, but the shaping provides extra strength against head-on attacks.

A single pilot is required for the Dusk Dragon. Most of the ship's systems are automated, but it takes a highly trained pilot who has experience with a variety of aircrafts to master this ship.

The tail is the primary source for turning and speed. It is used to direct the thrust from the dorsal engines, and gradually reorients the streamlines from the air passing over the rest of the body.

Three pectoral engines under the ships body offer additional lift and are used to counteract the torque caused by the primary thrusters, which are all positioned above the ship's lateral center of mass.

The Dusk Forge equipped the Dragon with eight soldier docks for troop transport, despite Veron’s refusal. The soldiers carried are all wearing patched up Dawn Forge armor, further mimicking the aesthetic style of the Dawn Forge. This feature gives this expensive investment a dual purpose.

The Dusk Dragon is equipped with two eight-barreled miniguns firing 22 mm ammunition at roughly 3840 rounds per minute, with a muzzle velocity of 720 meters per second.

Each missile bay contains six ballistic surface strike missiles and two R-37 air-to-air long-range missiles.

Topping off the weapons are four thermobaric warheads used to produce blast waves of higher duration than conventional explosives.

Here is a final shot of the Dusk Dragon with the eight soldier capacity ready for combat.

This was another fun ship to make. I tried to continue the dragon-esk style that I used in my Scrap Dragon, but the tail ended looking more fish-like. I also tried a different striping style than I am used to, I'm glad I did it but I think I like the thinner style (used on my other DF creations) a bit more. Anyways the weapons and cockpit aren't incredibly unique, but I tried to mesh them together in a way that worked.
As always thanks for stopping by, and look for more DF creations in the future!

This is so awesome! VTOL Gunships are by far my favorite Lego creations to build, so I love to see other people make them too. And you did great work with this MOC. I loved your Scrap Dragon mech so it was really cool to see that style expanded with this ship. Thanks for sharing your creations with us, I've added you to my favorite builders! |

Had to jump on the bandwagon on this one... Beautiful design! Those poor dudes on the side though... I can just picture them during a long space jump: hanging there, bored. Depressed. Hey, that's probably why they're ready to fight when they get to battle! |

Sweet ship. The lines are what I would call "industrially graceful." I imagine the noise that this ship would make being a low purring roar that would, despite not being ridiculously loud, capture all the savagery of war in a single sound. Great job. |
