A small diorama based on the hit physics puzzler for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. For those of you who have never heard of Angry Birds, It involves catapulting a variety of multicolored and multi-disciplined birdies into fortresses constructed by the evil green piggies who stole the birds' eggs. It's an extremely random plot line, but its challenge and addictive qualities have rendered me a frequent thief of my mother's iPhone. Please enjoy my somewhat out-of-scale diorama, and make sure to rate and comment!
About this creation
It was fun converting the 2D reference material into a 3D Lego mini diorama.
I built the bird first. I considered posting the bird by itself, but I thought that It would be even cooler if I made a castle with some evil green pigs.
And I will not be lying if I say that these piggies took up half my collection of lime green. (Thus the helmets.)
Because the little green pigs are so darn ugly and evil, I thought it would be natural if I included at least one MegaBlok.
Someone once asked me if, based on my love for Lego construction, I would want to be an architect. I hastily replied, "With the way I like to destroy things once they are built, no. I don't think that would be a good idea."
This final shot shows my temporary photography studio that I set up and tore down last night. I have drywall dust all over my jeans now...
Best Angry Birds MOC ive seen, i really like your bird, and the fact you chose the most basic and classic one there is.
I was just waiting for that second to alst picture, where the bird crashes into the fortress, nice pigs by the way.
Great job keep it up
Love it, I've never played angry birds but apparently it's good :P
Personally I really don't see why people make such a fuss over MegaBloks I mean c'mon, just cus they're a rip off doesn't mean you all need to rage quit and I quote "Destroy my creations" <- raging kid below in comments.
Thsi is great! I have never played Angry birds (I'm ashame), but this looks so cartoonish and I would like to give it at least 5 likes. Good job! Response to comment below: Every real LEGO builder hates MEGA BLOKS and destroys his LEGO creations. -.-
OOOOOHHHHH that's how people get perfect pictures for their mocs...the first time I tried a background ("HEY!"), I used a Cat Fancy poster, and yet it didn't seem good enough :P btw I love that game, and I have it on this computer right now! It doesn't have the episode showing an Indiana Jones pig, unluckily...
How harmless can little birds and moustached pigs be? Well, when it is 11:30 at night and I am staring at my iPod touch screen with the deceptively difficult task of getting those darned little red birds to destroy the pigs...well...Let's just say I regretted ever paying the $0.99 for the insanely addicting game. Now that I digress from the personal connections, this is so awesome because I play this game all the time! What a beautiful rendition of it, even amidst the apparent remodeling. :) Still awesome photograpy, to compliment the stunning MOC. I envy those little white pieces that make up the pig's eyes. And the whole thing just brings great memories to my mind, with the birds and the rubble in the final picture. Ugh! What a great job, Paul! I actually think this is one of the best ideas in your 70+ and whatever MOCs. Such a popular game stunningly duplicated in LEGO. OMGosh did I just do a lot of typing. I didn't even realize how much I was saying about this. Woops! Sorry for making you read all this...5 stars!
I've seen tons of Angry Birds MOCs, but this one has got to be one of my favorites! I also like the lighting set-up you have; I have my photo area set up the same way, except I don't use those commercial lights:) All in all, a great creation! Keep building!
