i m on moc pages since 21 may 2010,
my first building uploaded was my first bank.
unlike my past journals,
i have to do this one by sections...
i hurt my back, and could nt finish the layout!...sorry!
i started by the most important, the east part of the city,
this is what it will look like when finished...
except for houses that will be revised! lol!
also, i wanted to see the municipal parking better,
it gives an idea of what to expect now.
this is of course our living room,
as dean martin would say; welcome to my world! lol!
...and yes, the city fits!
we can see the plastic cases on the floor,
i use them a lot, here they re for tracks, and baseplates.
i also use them for cars, trucks, trains, parts!...very convenient!!!
here, we can see the work ahead...
amelie s house ain t panelised yet,
mano s working on her s ,
and sebastien s panelised house was...well, you see! lol!
there are still some road plates missing, but,
we ll get there...
you see them all on this post.
i installed the intersections with the cross-roads.
i know, it s not best for looks, but,
that s what i could come up with for the moment.
i ll try to find a way to get only straight roads,
as i heard it s possible to order some, without intersections...
i ll of course, let you know...
here, we can see my present concern...
the space between the houses, and beach access.
it s pretty tight!
i ll have to rebuild amelie s house in consequence.
we can see mano s building progress, as she s playing around panels, and designs.
this was monday, she progressed again yesterday,
she s figuring 2 nd floor now, wall, windows,
she likes the idea of spending only a few mins, to upgrade,
i knew she d like the 'panelising concept', as to be able to upgrade 1 panel at a time,
at her leisure, and time conveniance, with time, i came to understand,
that discouragement, and time restraints, we re part of her failing to finish.
she s very creative, and sometimes, she had better designs,
before even finishing what was already started.
i noticed her frustrations, and tried to figure how it could be avoided!
the 'solid' technique, was a discouragement for her,
as there were a lot of mods to reconfigure.
and that took time...she did nt have.
your interest should be, to be able to reproduce parts of her house easily!
while it s of no interest now, with future stories,
it should be more interesting to do so.
i hope cybercity will become 'the other city'
when we barely had something to use for a city,
when playing with the children,
we use to pretend that, 'the other neighboring city'
provided the missing city services we did nt have...
we started with vehicles, police cars, the prisonner transport,
we use to pretend that, the truck sent them in the next city s prison, or police station.
then, ambulances, fire trucks...ect!
with time, we progressively filled the gaps,
and became self sufficient,
i can now offer to be your 'other city'!
we have all services, and are very neighbourly!!!
coop will allow those stories to become more interesting.
as if you re able to reproduce vehicles, panels scenes...
it offers possibilities that were not possible before.
one day, i expect people to start their own stories,
and i ll go along them, i could make a part of your story here!
GLOBOLOPOLIS is now one of those fictional cities...
except in the form of a sin city now...
because i ve witnessed confusion over my universe design-concept.
i ll clearly state it here;
HOME PLANET; ALTA-5
BIGGEST NEIGHBOURING MEGAPOLIS; GLOBOLOPOLIS
there, all you have to do now, is name YOUR city!
i ll go along, ALTA-5 is big enough for everybody!
if you have a corp, you can also have your own planet!
name it, and i ll add it to ALTA-5 s solar system,
or, any other space convenient to your schemes! lol!
i m currently planning to make a group of 'story makers'
of wich the goal would be to experiment coop story making...
i m trying to define the tools needed to accomplish this.
it should be a stepping stone for ALTA-5 s systems.
my latest buzz...
listening to sims 2 music while building...lol!!!
Quoting Tom Hayes
oufff tom! you re right! they re a dream! i d love some! you have great taste!!! my finances are at an all time low right now! but, i ll NEVER forget those...so, i ll find a way! thank you a lot tom!!!
Terrific job on the cityscape … I love that you built with pink bricks too (not an easy thing to do with the limited available bricks and sizes in any shade of pink)
BTW, adding some raised baseplates makes for some interesting scenery too (although they can be a bit pricy). I especially like the 6024px1 raised baseplate.
Quoting DeTomaso Pantera
thanks detomaso! no worries about the races!...i wont start without you!!! as you can witness here, some roads are still missing! and the commentator s cabin is nt installed on the hotel yet! a few months...sorry!
Quoting Mike C
thanks mike! lol! well, the city never sits in the living room, it s very rare that it sits there...most of the time, it s in...the bedroom!!! and your concept of wife-godzilla sounds great! i m sure you d have incredible succes doing that on u-tube! lol!
Quoting Jay Rhum
desole jay! j ai souffert du dos toute la semaine...pas capable de rester assis droit plus que 10 mins...pas d autre chose que des documentaires, au lit, pendant 4 jours! c est mieux aujour d hui!...j arrive jay!
Quoting Cody G
thanks cody ! my plan is to get the missing roads first, then, i ll be a que-lug member, then, i should make the montreal marriott, and after that...brickworld! will it go like that...? i m not sure, but, it s the plan!
Quoting Sam Knavel
thanks sam! i m impressed with your collection as well! you re already equipped for a great sorting system! i d love it if you d ever use your yellow car in your story! ...and roll over zombies! lol!
Amazing Frank! I want to live there :) I could really do with some of those baseplates for the project I'm working on...to be posted tomorrow morning. Instead I've used every single last grey plate I have lol. Did I miss the races? Not heard anything about it since you mentioned it to me last! Hope your back heals up soon :)
Sorry to hear about your back :( but the City is going great I would love to see it complete and the fire department in action! I really just now understood the alta-5 concept you have but it is a very hard decision for me since my "City" is already in what we call Legoland, along with most of the fire users around but its very hard, i really got to think it over-Paulo R.
Awesome project you have going here. I enjoy seeing large layouts like this one. I want to see more of that green industrial building. I want to make something like that one day but haven't decided on anything yet.
Looking good there Frank. Take it easy on your back, we want you to finish this. And I have to saulte your better half, If I even tried to take over my living room with lego's my fiance would re-enact a seen out a godzilla movie as he walked through tokyo lol.
Quoting Nick Pascale
hey nick! i m not married yet!!! she said yes, but, we re broke! i don t know when we ll get any money, so...i ll keep you posted! lol!
the kids have their private collections.
it s Amelie s princess house !
i suppose this to be the last journal because of ALTA-5!
Sorry to hear (read) about your back - take it easy! Your pics proove the way LEGO can not only take over your life (they are so very addicting) but your home as well! If you are married - lucky you it seems your wife deals with it well. I know you mentioned children - do they touch your stuff or do they have their own LEGOS? I love the pink building it looks like a DISNEY WORLD structure, but a bike on the terrace - spoiled kid!
When you say LAST are you no longer building?
