This is the new eye-catcher of my table-top clone army.

From first planning to final upload it took around one year, with some really long breaks.
Painting was done after two or three weeks, though. Concentration drains rapidly during the process and I had to put them down after short periods of time.

I've used enamel paints and scratched free the printed decals as the paints become semi-dry (with bamboo barbeque sticks).

After transforming some of my clones into Republic Commandos I wanted to come up with a design of my own.
Something based on fire seemed to be a good idea to me, because it has no distinct shape, which would offer the freedom to stick to one theme within a squad, without them looking completely the same again.
Furthermore, I have some sort of affinity to fire, due to another hobby of mine: Forging.

But, enough of me now. Let's have a closer look at these clones.
About this creation
Torch wears the rank of a sergeant and consequently leads the other members of the squad in battle. He inspires his team with his bravery and believe in individuality despite the same genetic code.
The privates Flare and Sparks are quite talkative and do most of their tasks together. Over the years of their training they learned literally every mandalorian legend and poem they stumbled about by heart. Since war has spreads through the galaxy, Flare and Sparks try to speak with their Jedi generals or local warriors and civilians to learn new tales.
HEAT - the name is program. Private HEAT is the teams specialist for explosive ordnance and heavy weapons. He is a calm, tactical mind and sometimes a bit cold. His closest friend is Phoenix, who saved his life several times.
Due to his dangerous tasks, HEAT hopes for a life after war, but he is not sure how this life would be.
HE-AT (high explosive - anti tank) - written in Aurebesh
Flash-Over brings the fight to the enemy. Some say he spends more time painting his armour than shooting droids. But the fact is Flash-Over spends most of his free time to maintain his combat suit, because as he says: "It will pay back in the hours of need." Over the years he gained a pronounced knowledge and understanding of technologies.
Besides, Flash has a strong believe in democracy (out side the military) and in the good intentions of the Republic. There exists a friendly competition between him and Hot Rods.
This soldier is truly on fire.
Private Hot Rods is literally a son of the gun. He supports the team with all sorts heavy repeater arms. Blessed with an endless amount of luck and always up for a fight Hot Rods likes to play the bait for traps set up by his team.
He thinks the Republic and the Separatists aren't so very different in their goals.
His interpretation of democracy is a bit off the way: "There is a plasma bolt for everyone."
Therefore, and because he thinks the bigger gun deals more damage to the enemy, Hot Rods keeps up a competition with his closest friend Flash-Over.
Corporal Phoenix is the medic of the team and second in command.
His team members swear he has to power to bring back the dead, especially, HEAT who survived several critical injuries only thanks to his first aid. In return, Phoenix came to his name by a statement HEAT once made in front of other clone troopers, whom made fun of Phoenix' hobby:"He raise fire within me where only smoldering ashes were left."
Phoenix has a great interest in all living beings and studies and draws every creature they discover on their journey through the galaxy. His photographic memory serves him well for both his tasks and his hobby. Phoenix is left-hander.
... from the ashes ...
A clones allegiance is with the Republic.
"Let's fry some droids, boys!!!"
