This is one of those simple yet visually effective designs, well done! I had a similar design idea except mine -if I ever get to it- will be a orbital family/personal space craft. You know, so you can go for a Sunday orbit instead of a Sunday drive! Nice work!

Actually, I ordered from North Carolina. I waited and waited... so I asked my mom if she had gotten any word on the order. She said she forgot to pay for it. Three days later... The blasters are from the alien conquest sets, but I got mine from bricklink. I would love to try it. Unfortunately, it costs something (what doesn't?) and I am too lazy right now to make another order. I may try it sometime. Aww... That's the fun part though! I did see yours. The day I started mine, I was telling Paul V. what pieces I was going to use, and he tells me that there is a spiff ship on the homepage. "OH NO" I thought. I saw it and thought, "Oh good, it is a decorative one." I really like yours. It is so small!

Actually, (@Max and Chris) while those blasters do come from Alien Conquest, that color only appeared with the "Space Villain" collectable minifigure. The Alien Conquest alien blasters are silver, and the human blasters look like binoculars. Also, (@Max's reply to my previous comment) I am considering a Bricklink order, and the cape runs around $1.25. Would you like me to purchase you one?

Bravo! Well done Max! You've captured the genius of Waterson's work perfectly. Great use of pieces, and I agree with the consensus. You've got one of the best designs out there. I might add though that I still think my cloth idea would work. I was browsing Bricklink today and ran across the large red cloth cape that came with the 1:1 scale Zurg, and I think that if you rolled it up and fitted it in the window frames, you'd come away with a smoother surface. My two cents. Overall, some awesome brickwork here, and I don't think Spiff turned out all that bad after all.

But the ship is awesome, same with the artistic photo and Calvin looks great even though you claim he is the worst part. The blaster rocks: what ALIEN CONQUEST set did you get for that? And the curvature of the UFO style craft looks a-w-e-s-o-m-e! 5 stars Max!
