Trying to use Modulex in the LEGO® city gave me the idea to build this Fort. Just a fun build, a week-end's work...
About this creation
Fort Modulex was built in the 19th century to protect the city from future wars.
It was given the name of fort Modulex while the builders used a new construction material called "Modulex". Once part of the great city wall, now a lonely bastion.
The mime performing on the square
The exit, out of the city.
Guarding the cannon.
Four details,in which the new Modulex material is used.
The city entrance, I think the best side of the building.
Closeup on the tower.
Portcullis, only decorative, disabled to prevent injury.
The old portcullis mechanism, and stairs to the tower.
Overview of the fort, four of these would make a nice fortification!
Artsy shot of the bridge.
Flower technique, thought it was new, but someone posted the same technique a few hours before me...

Fourth brick commentary:
This was a fun build, designed to show the possibilities of combining LEGO® bricks with the way smaller Modulex bricks. It was also my first "Castle-ish" MOC, I might want to build something similar again, but I would add some more detail...
I have no pictures inside the city yet because I'm not really happy with its position right now...

BTW does Lego make the "Modulex bricks"?
Well, they did back in the 60s, but it was discontinued due to lack of interest around 1970... I bought them on the internet...
