Doctor Who – Blink – The Weeping Angels
"Don't Blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't Blink. Good Luck."
About this creation
If you like this project, please vote for it on cuusoo .

This is one of the best episodes (if not the best) from the 2005 series of Doctor Who (Writer: Steven Moffat). If you’re not familiar with this episode, just google “doctor who blink” and you’ll see.

For those of you, who would like to build your own angels, here are the instructions:

To build the wings is a bit tricky. Make sure that the left flag’s clip sits next to a stud while the right clip goes over the stud (and the other way round for the second wing). Also be careful not to break one of the clips.

These are some early wing designs and I’m not proud of them.

In case you want the angel to weep, you need to replace the arms with 2 short flexible tubes.

Just one more thing: The arch construction in the basement. I didn’t want to use the classic LEGO ® arches, but it was more complicated than I expected. Not that you can see much of it in the main picture *sigh*

And don’t forget: The angels have the phonebox.

Hello Thorsten, I hope your evening is going well. Sorry to be a bother, but I'm here to ask you if you had any interest in being on my 2013 MocAthalon team. If your not exactly familiar as to what the MocAthalon is, here's a link to last year's contest: http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/19864 Though the contest doesn’t actually start for a few months, I thought I'd ask you in advance so you have time to think your decision over. If you’re interested, here's a link to the team page: http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/22110 Have a great night! -Justin

Quoting Allan Hall ... one question have you had ago at a minifig scale dalek yet, if yes could you post it. many thanks Allan.
Thank you, Allan. A Dalek was indeed among my very first MOCs and I posted them here on MOCpages. I also created some from the Smith area, based on my versions from the Eccleston/Tennant area, but haven't posted them. Those were early creations and like my Blue Box, I think they need a makeover.

----- I'm afraid you got something wrong. Quoting George G. I loved this episode. I bet you also jumped in the part when the camera cuts to the mans face and then cut back again to the large screaming face of the angel! You can't deny it :) Anyway, the build is great! The angel design is ingenious - but where did you get the grey-ponytail hear? I don't think I've seen that before... And finally, did you write that message on those bricks? If so, I don't think you're going to be usong them again... :D
Oh yes, I did jump, like in several other episodes from Moffat. You can find the light bley ponytail here (http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=86&itemID=3234). As for the writing on the wall, I’m glad somebody asked. First I considered to write directly onto the wall, but than I did it digitally. I took some screenshots, put them together to get the complete wall and skewed it until I got a plain frontview without a perspective. Then I put a 1:1 brick grid over it, made an outline for the green part of the wall, and recreated the writing. After that I exported the outline and the writing to an EPS file, which I could put over any photo (no matter which angle) and skew it to the right perspective. In the end I simply erased the outline.

Ah Sally Sparrow, the best companion we never had.... Certainly one of the best ep's of the new run (I'm torn between this and 'Family of the blood')and you've done a fine job with the scenes here mate. Love the lighting, BRILLIANT authentic looking instructions and a smart idea for wings too. And you will LOVE the new series, some great episodes already.

What say..? another amazing creation of Doctor Who. Written on the wall of the fireplace is a great idea, the large window overlooking the garden with the statue is impressive. the play of light and shadow creates a ghostly effect of dusk. What about the basement: the angels with their wings are beautiful, and everything down there seems bleak and just left the movie set. Again, you confirm yourself as one of the best Moccer. The instructions are brilliant My congratulations friend .. I'm speechless

Outstanding. Something this good deserves more than three shots. But then it is the magic behind it. Love the furnace and the wallpaper. Looking forward to watch this episode now even more.

This is absolutely brilliant!! This episode was one of my all time favorites from Doctor Who, and I've watched everyone last one of 'em! I was actually contemplating making a scene with a weeping angel, but I don't have any gray torsos. And I cant figure out how to make good wings..Maybe I'll just try your idea..Anywho, enough blabbering. Excellent job as always from you!

Quoting James Wallace Amazing!!!!! Where do you get all your pieces from? Do you use software like Lego Digital Designer to plan them first? This is very, very good!
Thanks James. I once tried LDD, but didn't like it. When I build, I use whatever bricks and colours I have. When I'm satisfied with the MOC, I can easily calculate how many new bricks I need, oder them on BL and replace them. Sometimes I calculate before building (and often I end up with not enough bricks, argh!).

Quoting Ben Indy Nice moc but I have to say I don't like Doctor Who, anymore, that is. This was the last episode I saw and I thought it was creepy. But hey, not as scary or creepy or whatever the empty child was...
Thanks. Yeah, "The Empty Child" was indeed creepy, just like "Silence in the Library" and almost everything else Moffat wrote for the first 4 RTD seasons. Fantastic, muaharhar.
