ESC "HighNest" Minx Class Flagship
A command and control flagship designed and produced by the Edges Synthos Corporation. For achieving victory in the most efficient means possible!
About this creation
Acting Captain: Sai Mitakora
Homeworld: Yevinth, Edges Synthos Corporation Trust, Agricultural World

One of the newest Ship-of-the-Line series to be rolled out of the Dyska Shipyards, the Minx Class Flagship. This fast, highly armored command vessel can take more damage than more ships, but it isn't intended for front line combat, thus the absence of the main cannon systems.

Sleek and well armored, the Minx Class is by far the most durable ship in the fleet, and with good reason. All Sector Fleets of the Security Forces are required to field at least one Minx Class for command purposes, as well as intelligence and counter-intelligence.

As with all capital ship designs, the Minx Class features the standard belly hangar. This hangar, however is almost entirely given over to the Minx Class' compliment of recon fighters, thus, requires further fighter screening from support vessels.

The Minx Class is fitted with six Dual Heavy Cannon turrets for defensive fire, as well as the standard point defense system. No torpedo bays were built into the Minx. Instead, that space was devoted to sensor and counter-measure systems, and to enhanced armor for protecting the lightly defended craft.

The Minx Class is the only vessel type, at this time, to feature 4 Main Drives, instead of the standard configuration of two Main Drives and two Secondary Drives. This is to achieve acceleration on par with the Geneva Class Destroyers, despite its greater mass. However, manueverability is somewhat lacking in comparison.

Note the unusual bow, which has more in common with sea-faring craft than with typical starship design. This unique section of armor encloses one of the most powerful and sophisticated communications and sensor suites ever produced for a warship. While the sensor arrays can be arranged in any configuration, the shape was actually mandated by the Communications array, which is about 4 times larger than a typical array, giving it the necesary power to punch through enemy jamming efforts. This array can also be used to jam enemy sensors and communications very efficiently.

BONUS:

ESC "Boxer" Resta Class Frigate

Acting Captain: Jack Williamson
Homeworld: Morric, Edges Synthos Corporation Trust, Research World

Even the SotL vessels need support. That's where the Resta Class shines best. Frigates often support SotL vessels by acting as pickets, where they surround the larger capital ships and provide cover and firepower, which is particularly useful when deployed in blindspots or gaps in field of fire.

While decidely smaller, Resta Class frigates are able to move faster and are more agile than their bigger siblings. This allows them to react quicker to changes on the battlefield, and to provide a more flexbile defensive posture when necesary.

What determines the class of the Drives used aboard starships is the acceleration/mass ratio. The Resta Class is powered by four Main Drives, and is easily amoung the fastest of the Frigate class vessels employed by the Security Forces.

For defensive fire, the Resta Class is equiped with 3 Dual Light Cannon Turrets. These weapons give a good field of fire to the tops and sides of the ship. For offensive fire, on the dorsal hull is mounted a smaller, single barrel version of the Main cannon system found on the Geneva Class Destroyer. While smaller and not as powerful, these weapons are easier to deploy in larger numbers, and tactical groups of Resta Class can make short work of even the most armored capital ships.

CULTURAL NOTE 1:

Yevinth is a terrain type world that is approximately twice the size of Earth. While this world does have a stronger gravity, it does not affect the inhabitants adversely, instead strengthening them in the higher gravity. Yevinth is one of three primary Agricultural worlds within the ESC Trust, and provides nearly 75 percent of the grain foods that the ESC harvests. Originally with a heavy arsenic atmosphere, Yevinth is one of the first worlds to be terraformed by the company that would eventually form the Edges Synthos Corporation.

CULTURAL NOTE 2:

Morric is a small, dense rocky world with little breathable atmosphere. While it is resource poor, the lighter gravity and lack of atmosphere has made it ideal for the research and development of space-capable technologies, as well as being noted for the location in which the new S21-NA ARTCS was developed. Several domed establishments dot the surface, each a city built around the research facilities. These cities do feature most luxaries other worlds have to offer, and are connceted by enclosed transit lines.

Quoting Mike C I really like the shape of this ship. It's a really sleek design. The fleet shot looks great. Awesome work
Thanks. I wanted this one to have a very sleek feel to it, because it's not meant for frontline fighting. And if you liked the fleet shot, what till you see what I do next.
