Here is the second addition to my unofficial militarized Star Wars vehicle theme, the T-47 Airspeeder (Nannan's TIE Fighter will have to wait)
About this creation
As it says above, this is the next build in a series of "militarized" Star Wars ships, if you missed my X-wing, check it out here. My aim was to take the T-47 Airspeeder, more commonly known as the Snowspeeder, and build a modern version. Let me know how I did!

Here is another diagram of various parts seen on the belly. Unlike most of my builds, I actually attempted to make the bottom presentable. It's far from perfect, but I'm improving.
Here is a shot from the side.
A nice "Vic Viper" shot, the angle is a little off but I felt that this pose was necessary.
A view of the tuchus, here we have a much better view of the heat dispersion unit, as well as both of the rear thrusters.
Here's the wing showing the minigun, turbine, and the engine. Of course there are some juicy greebles under a protective flap, this is a snowspeeder after all.
A better look at that engine. I redesigned this area several times, there are a seemingly infinite amount of cool combinations you can place in here, and this is the one I stuck with.
Alright so one of the biggest complaints about my X-wing was that the ship was not built to minifig scale, yet I included a minifig for a pilot anyways. Well now you can see I fixed that (three cheers for constructive criticism!). It's still not minifig scale, so I built a kwi-chang inspired seat and placed it in a spacious cockpit.
Here is a gauss rifle and the ever-so-classic harpoon. The gunner sits behind that windscreen during flight; you'll notice there is a lot more room under the canopy, this area is used to hold supplies.
The primary weapon of the modified T-47, an eight-barreled minigun mounted on each wing. The ammo is stored at the base of the minigun, and the power is derived from the combustion turbines.
Additional firepower is offered by four missiles that lie under each wing. These missiles provide the extra oomph needed to take out vehicles with extra armor.
Here is an overall shot of the bottom. Another aspect of my X-wing that was lacking was the landing gear; I don't know if the toboggan-style landing rails are much of an improvement, but at least they're different. This angle didn't turn out as well as I was hoping but at least is shows the bottom.
Well it looks like that's all for now! I tried to take a few more pictures this time for those of you who like seeing all the angles. Hopefully you enjoyed looking at this as much as I enjoyed created it! Stay tuned for more militarized Star Wars creations in the future!

Seriously cool on so many levels. Not only is it an original SW ship, you've done it pure justice with this make-over! My favorite parts are the cockpit, greebs on the thrusters and the overall cleaness. Plus, the grey was a good choice when white would've been obvious. |

Really cool looking MOC. I really like this theme. However, if I can offer some (constructive) criticism. The cockpit area looks a little too bulky and more like a commercial aircraft with the side windows. Maybe some slight reworking there would make it even better. |
