GA-TL1 Longsword-Class Interceptor
Base interceptor/starfighter of the UNSC Navy. Based on models from Halo 3, and Halo: Reach. As you can see, I've finally gotten a proper backdrop! :D
About this creation
The UNSC Navy utilizes Longsword fighters to fill a variety of roles in exo-atmospheric and atmospheric enviornments. This includes: Starfighter [repelling enemy strike craft and fighters], Interceptor [long range defensive or superiority missions], and as a Bomber [delivery of heavy ordinance to enemy capital ships or ground based targets].

Armament includes:
- (2) 110mm rotary cannons [this is ridiculous, they are more likely 25-30mm caliber]
- (2) 120mm ventral cannons [again ridiculous, likely 30-50mm caliber]
- (4) ASGM-10 Missiles

*Optional*:
- (1) Moray Space Mine Deployment System [36 mines]
- (1) 'Shiva'-Class Nuclear Missile [in lieu of other missile equipment]

Fun Facts:
*At the current scale, a YSS-100 Sabre, and 'Seraph' Starfighter would only be 8 studs in comparison. So yes, this fighter is quite large [~210 ft long, slightly shorter than the AN-225 Cossack, the world's largest aircraft]
*A Pelican Dropship would be roughly 9 to 10 studs long in comparison, once again, the Longsword is quite large.
* Here's a Scale Chart:

Personally, I love the shape of this fighter. Not quite sure if i completely captured it in the build.
Oh, by the way, does anyone know what those 6 hole-like things behind the cockpit/cabin area are supposed to be? My guess is the mine launch system, but who knows.

the engine exhausts were a bit of a mystery to me, as most pictures do not show this area in proper lighting.

the intakes are terrible i know, i ran out of pieces to smooth this over so i just made a gaping hole...

a more common view of the longsword.

well, as usual ratings, comments, and critique are appreciated.

Interestingly, they also go under the designation of "c709" as well as the "GA-TL1" name.

If it were a choice I'd choose this instead of a Sabre. >Eric
