In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit...
About this creation

...not a nasty, dirty wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on... it was a hobbit hole, and that means comfort.
I put off building this for ages - hobbit hole, I thought, who wants to build that, it's been done before - but you can't build LOTR without building hobbits. It's not on. So here it is...

Whoever first thought of that upside-down-arch arrangement for doors deserves a medal.

My own little touch - round steps, since I decided not to stay faithful to Peter Jackson's version. They make it look more round and well, hobbitish.

A Mrs. Hobbit sowing seeds in her cornfield, watched over by her trusty scarecrow.

Bilbo, poring over his old maps, remembering the Lonely Mountain...

The cart is my least favourite part, although I have never once made a Lego cart that I was happy with... I can't make cars either come to think of it.

Lecky tape + cd markers + a LOT of holding your breath while you draw = custom hobbits.
Whaddaya think fellows?

nice customs could you give me the decals
I was afraid someone might ask this... because I do each decal separately by hand I can't guarantee they'll all be the same! But what I will try to do, is make a collection of decals, scan them in large-size and JPEG them so you guys can print them if it works. |

In my opinion, this is the best LEGO Bag End that I'v seen (I'v seen quite a few). I like the land scape, and I like that the interior is small but realistic. A lot of bag Ends I'v seen have a full interior but are not as realistic. Also, even though I am purist I can appreciate the custom clothes, because most custom clothes I'v seen are sloppy, under done, and not true to story. In other words; this Bag End is the BOMB! |
