THE SHOW

Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen! Allow me to welcome you to the world's greatest exhibition of magic and mysteries! Shortly our special guest will take the stage beside me and show you some of his incredible powers, but first I'd like to thank our sponsors...

Announcer:...and finally, I give you our special guest, Mr. Harry Potter! His cat, Raj-Raj, will be assisting him in tonight's demonstration.

Harry: Hi!

Raj-raj: i can has cheezburger?

Announcer: So Harry, what exactly are you and Raj-Raj going to do for us this evening?

Harry: Well sir, I'm going to turn Raj-raj into the sexiest thing I can think of– apart from Draco Malfoy of course.

Announcer: Sounds exciting! Before he works the magic though, I think that everyone should know that I'm putting my money on Doog of the LIU Atlas appearing before us quite shortly. Someone, hit the lights!

Harry: 3...2...1...

Harry: TRANSFORMICUS!

Jar-jar: Helloo! Meesa Jar-Jar Binks!

Audience Members: *Gasp* Ahhhh! Help! Shield my eyes!

Jar-Jar: Ooh mooey mooey I love you!

Announcer: What have you done, you pervert?! Someone call security!

Ninja #1: You! Drop that wand!

Ninja #2: Going somewhere?

Harry & Jar-jar: Ahhh!

Jar-Jar: How wude!

Harry: It's not my fault...blame Voldemort!

Announcer :I'm so sorry folks! I swear, if we had any idea of what a monster we were inviting as a guest...I assure you, we would never knowingly risk your safety like that...oh for heavens sake, someone get a lawyer to deal with all of these people!

THE END

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

If you've hung on this long, then you too may now be privy to the secrets of making magic without Photoshop.

Materials:
• flashlight
• a camera capable of taking long exposure photos
• a dark room
• camera tripod*
• another person*

*optional, but very helpful

Procedure:
1. Take all materials other than the room into the dark room.

2. Set up your camera and configure it for long exposure. The longer the exposure, the more time you will have to draw.

3. Go in front of the camera and then turn on the flashlight. If you have another person, then this is when you tell them too press the button on the camera. Otherwise, press the button yourself and run in front of the camera.

4. Draw with the flashlight. Where you wave the flashlight glowing lines will appear in the final image. The longer the exposure, the more time you have to draw.

5. Look at what you've made. Experiment with different lights. In fact, just mess around a bit with long-exposure photography, as light painting is only one of many things that you can do with it.

Have fun!

Notes: I discovered light painting online, and have messed around with it quite a bit since then. I decided to make this set of instructions to give people not lucky enough to have Photoshop the ability to produce high-quality effects to augment their Lego creations without any kind of digital manipulation. That said, long-exposure photography techniques can be both fun and useful for Photoshop owners too.
