One of my entries to Shadowgear6335's Byte contest.
About this creation
(Before any of you get excited, no, this is not a bionicle in any way. Bytes and spheroids in my storyline originate entirely separately from any bionicle-related things, and in fact tie in more with ArcheoGenis, the Mysterions and MAOX.)
Name: Trigbyte (Orbis telum) Gender: +/-* Species: Byte Race: Megabyte Occupation: Sniping Platform Prevailing Element: Anger* Alignment: Lawful Neutral Typical Weapon(s): Sniper Gun, Ironsight, Hovercore, Extensible Tripod**, Pincers MOC Status: Disassembled
*Spheroid elements and genders are a bit different.
**All these hovery Bytes are good, but you need to stay still to line up a good headshot.
(Gang Garrison 2 - Get Acquainted With the Rifleman)
Bytes are the equivalent of rahi to matoran, or domesticated animals to us humans. They are less intelligent than their spheroid masters/keepers but are cruxial to the running of the network organism/planets they inhabit. Each plays a different role, but only Spheroids (Orbis sapiens) are truly self-aware. Bytes rarely leave their planet of origin. Unlike Spheroids, bytes are also born/manufactured with their body and are fused to it, unlike spheroids which can build, connect and disconnect at will. They also posess an eye with a pupil. Spheroid-vision works slightly differently.
Also note that the spheroid emotions and corresponding colours are based according to the Byte classifications.
This one's classification is "Megabyte" as defined by us humans. Spheroids link these light-green bytes with anger, violence and fear. Considering the jobs of megabytes, this is unsurprising. Of all classifications, the Megabyte is the most violent, destroying intruders to a system and acting on the offensive in many cases.
The Trigbyte shown is built to take down rogue elements and intruders at range using a highly accurate sniper rifle attatchment. Accuracy is key for all megabytes, as missing the opponent or causing extra damage to the surroundings is detrimental to the planet/organism as a whole, and uses up resources.
Be polite. Be efficient. Have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
As per the contest's rules, the colour scheme consists only of the orb colour, grey and silver. Trigbyte also does not exceed the height of Toa Steve here, even with the tripod fully extended as far as it can go without Trigbyte falling over.
Also, my version of the Bytes' storyline and Shadowgear's are not exactly the same.
Trigbyte is one of (a possible) set of nine Bytes, each one based off a different TF2 class.
hey if its ok with you i made a viral version of him and will probably upload him tomorrow. also, what happened to you on youtube haven't heard from you in awhile?

Quoting Akara The Great
Well, looks like somebody's gonna win another one of shadow's contests. You think virals in the shape of some iconic Star Wars starfighters good ideas? If not then that was 5 hours down the drain.
What, like a TieByte? Why not? Sounds awesome! TieByte as a name suchs though. Sounds like some sort of ready-meal...
Quoting Zeta Invader
I like the tripod idea, and LOVE the body/head/bazooka/sniper idea XD The only thing that I'm not fond of are the three little arms. It might be the two were in the same position in all the picture, or it just seems to be a mishmash at first sight. Other than those arms, I like it.
Fair enough. I agree they look a bit wierd. A product of me trying to make a byte as un-humanoid as possible. Each arm is attatched at the same angle relative to the centre, so the base has a triple rotational symmetry, but the way they move is a bit strange looking. Think Hoth spy-droid.
