You Shall Not Pass!
My entry for the LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring contest. My creation depicts Gandalf the Wizard fighting the evil Balrog on the Bridge of Khazad-dm. Enjoy!
About this creation

"You shall not pass!"

The Balrog standing next a mini Gandalf. I moved the Balrog's wings into a more sinister position for this shot; the Balrog supports 9 points of articulation.

A shot showing how the Balrog's wings and tail just barely go beyond the base, which (to my knowledge) is allowed under the rules :)

Background info:
The battle between Gandalf and the Balrog is one of the most iconic scenes in the book and the movie. I painstakingly researched the entire scene, using the movie, book, and expanded universe paintings as references. I also took some inspiration from the fantastic Mr. Nannan Z who, like Ferris Bueller, they say is " a righteous dood." :) As a side note, I will not be entering the other two contests, as my HS graduation is coming up and I really have no time on my hands. Still, I had a lot of fun with this contest; may the best MOC win!

I must say, this is one of my favorites. Although the build is simple, it is in context of the concept and I give it the appropriate score: 96/100

Quoting Ru Corder I love this, except that yellow tail. 98/1oo
Thank you for the score! Actually, the tail isn't yellow: it's a weird shade of orange. But I agree with you that it does look odd :)

Excellent micro-scale! The bridge: Well done! You found the perfect bricks for it!: (100/100). The Balrog: It's just awesome (although he may have less thin arms): (90/100). Gandalf: Clever ideas (the only thing missing is the hair (87/100) Your score: 92/100

First micro-scale Balrog-Gandalf fight I've seen! Superb work on the Balrog, I would've used minifig hands for the horns as well.

This is really something else! I was planning on doing this scene, but on a big scale. Then I saw the overhang rule and (piff) that went out the door. So I am very glad someone did this in micro scale. This is one of the best micro scales submitted yet. You've got a good chance with this! The balrog is fantastic! 5/5!

Quoting Deus _ Very good balrog, but I'd rather put a hat on gandalf's head or something...
Yeah, I tried putting a grey stud on his head, but it didn't look good. As for the hat idea, Gandalf wasn't wearing a hat in the movie, which is where I got most of my reference work from.
