CAPITOL CLASS CYLON BASESHIP Another classic creation for the BSG fans.
About this creation

Welcome to the finished product.

The 1978 Cylon Baseship This beast is very heavy 22.75kg and 1055mm diameter and 950mm high on the stand. 700mm high without the stand.

This is the first model for the year and it had to be a challenge in size and parts.

This Baseship is by far the heaviest I have built to date sadly too weak to be picked up even with extra hands assisting. The stand is slowly buckling under the weight of the Baseship.

I used a staggering 23606 bricks in all. YES it has been dismantled to save the bricks from undue damage from it's hefty mass.

I have still more images

You can see more images on "BRICKSHELF" Just type in

Since there are too many and I don't want to clutter this page.

THANK YOU FOR VIEWING THIS CREATION.

Quoting Sandra Almeida This is awesome! Only in my wildest dreams I could ever do just a work or art! Being a bsg fan of the old show, am really happy to see this done in bricks, as I know I'll never have enough bricks to do it anyway (assuming I had the skills ;) ). Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much Sandra for your outstanding comment. Glad I was able to please a fellow BSG fan.... Cheers

Quoting J H Really good. It has a great macro scale about it. Brilliantly built.
Thank you for your comment. Macro scale is so much easier than micro. I can get so much more detail to give the best results. Thanks again and keep your great looking Doomgiver developing. Cheers

Quoting Mark Kelso Not sure how I missed this at the onset, but thank God I've discovered it now! BRILLIANT work! You've done a fantastic job on the form, which is a real challenge in Lego. Great job in breaking up the surface area, as well, with interesting textures and subtle color blocking. Ships from the original BSG are some of my fav. designs of any Sci-fi series yet, and you really do justice to them. Well done!!!
Thank you Mark for your generous appraisal of this toaster filled monster. I am glad to have done it lego justice as it is my intention to make these magnificent old series BSG models. So they can be enjoyed all over again in a different medium. Cheers

Quoting Ruud Hoogmoed Garry, you did it again! You must have a lot of time to spend, I didn't expect the final basestar this quickly. It looks great, with a lot of details. And very impressive measures. Do you live close to a lego factory? Do you ever run out of parts? Anyway, you've made an extremely good looking basestar.
Love to have a lego factory next door, sadly they are all 1000kms away. I've run out of parts too often but the net comes to the rescue..Thank you for your kind words.

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy Absolutely stunning. Building something huge is often complicated enough, but building something huge and round is even more complicated. Still haven't seen the new BSG (yes, El Barto, I have to confess; I'm still watching Batman to please Dave, haha), but I remember those from my early childhood. Kudos from here.
Thank you Mr. Xenomurphy.. It posed many challenges but it was worth it... larger challenge coming up soon enough...

Thank you Paul For your kind words.... NO it cannot be moved or lifted with out collapsing in a heap of plastic. It is also to large to fit through my door way. Cheers...

This thing is a monster in size and scale not to mention the amount of detail you put in it. It may be on the verge of self destructing from its own mass but it's a beauty in design for all us old school BSG fans(and the new ones too)!
