Now this is stuff from ben cossy i like to see!! Great job here manages to keep the turaga feel but be a bit bigger and bulkier. To answer you question It started around Tex and Rex. They had a great concept but the execution just wasn't quite right. The more self mocs that followed the simpler they go until altron.

Whoa, I can hardly even believe that he's a Turaga. The design makes him look like a war-veteran (which he is), and he looks a lot stronger thatn your usual Turaga. Looking at him, I'm sure that not even a Kane-Ra can topple him.
