BSG: The Return To Kobol Part 2
Previously on Battlestar Galactica: Under the command of William Adama, three Raptors were deployed to the planet Kobol, the original home of the Twelve Tribes. Ambushed by the Cylons in orbit, only one Raptor survived, and crash landed near the ruins of the City of the Gods.
About this creation
A Cylon Heavy Raider crashed as well, and both forces maneuvered to gain the advantage.

Out manned and out gunned, the Humans attempted a sneak attack, but were unsuccessful.

Fleeing the pursuing Cylon Centurions, Chief Tyrol led the survivors, Vice President Baltar, and Specialists Cally and Seelix, into the forest.

Cornered and out of options, the Chief stood his ground against the Cylons in a desperate attempt to survive.

Unbeknownst to him, a rescue Raptor arrived just in time to annihilate the Centurions.

"What?"

The rescue Raptor team saved the day, and all survivors returned to the Galactica.

However, that day the humans were not accurate in their count of the enemy forces. Several of the homicidal robots remained to stand guard over the downed Raider, and once the Humans left, they fortified their position, anticipating their own way off the planet.

Many years passed, and the Centurions went into an improvised hibernation.

Various systems were taken from the remains of the Raider to create renewable sources of energy.

But no other ships ever came back to Kobol...

Until now...

After briefing CMDR Nempec and the senior staff about what transpired in the Realm of Athena, Maverick and his team of Marines return to the surface to oversee the establishment of a central base of operations.

The camp will serve as a hub for archaeologists and other scientists to study Kobol after the Galactica leaves orbit in pursuit of its continuing mission to the Twelve Colonies.

It is designed to be a self sufficient facility, with personnel quarters, communications, laboratory areas...

...and even showers.

Chrissy Phipson, executive assistant to Parrington Levopolis, Founder and CEO of the GAIA, has arrived with a film crew, and supervises as the equipment is unloaded from the Heavy Raptor. She is also concerned that the facility may not be suitable for her employer's demanding specifications.

"What do you think's in here, Mate, her shoes?"
"Nah, too heavy for that...Something with batteries, I think..."

CMDR L. Barto, leery of the technicians from the GAIA, eyes the progress from afar.

"So, Bones, What do you think of these wing-nuts?"

"Pretty shifty bunch, Commander, but we'll keep an eye on 'em..."

Phipson: "May I speak to whomever is in charge?"
Maverick: "That would be me, Ms. Phipson, CMDR L. Barto, but you can call me Maverick. Don't worry about our Marines, they're just a little star struck. I guess you can't escape your fans, no matter how far you go, eh?"

Phipson: "Well, Mr. Maverick, we have a great deal of equipment here, for our film crew and the scientists. We really ought to find a safe place for it all."
Maverick: "Certainly, yes, please, don't let us get in the way..."

"This is going to be frakin' great! Glad I brought along some booze..."

"So, Grandpa, what ya got here?"
"Well, it appears to be a skeleton!"
"Awesome!"

Evening descends on the camp, and everyone settles in for the night.

Maverick: "Okay, McCoy, you and Red here can take the first watch. Simon and Corthay will relieve you. And stay sharp, who knows what those goombas are going to be up to."

"Yes, Sir."

Bones: "I hope this is the end of those Shifu Surprise rations. We're runnin' outta hot sauce!"
Bonsch: "And going to the outhouse five times a day isn't so great either!"

Scientist: "This is just amazing! There are enough archaeological ruins here to spend a lifetime!"
Phipson: "That is sooo interesting! Yawn. It sure gets late early here..."

"Dude, this bites!"
"Oh, don't worry, something's bound to happen..."
"Yeah, in my pants!"

"Alright, Gotta take a leak!"

"Do NOT go in there!"

"Wha...!"

Red: "Huh?"

Maverick: "You hear that?"
Bones: "I heard it.."

Mav:"Grab your gear, I don't like the sound of this...Make sure everybody stays in the sheds."
Bonsch: "On it, Sir!"
Mav: "Let's go!"

Mav (whisper): "Crap!"

Bones (whisper): "I see 'em, too."

Bonsch (whisper): "Got three."

Mav (whisper): "On my mark, one, two,..."

"THREE!!"

PVT McCoy: "So, Commander, What do you think?"
Mav: "Well, Jim, I think they're dead..."

Mav: "But just in case, you stay here and keep an eye on 'em. Don't let anybody nose around, either. Let's find Red!"
"Yes, Sir."

The next morning.

Mav: "He'll be fine in a few weeks. Doc Korund'll fix 'em up in no time..."

Phipson: "I'm not sure if I'll be fine...for a long time...We sure were fortunate that you were here, Mr. Maverick!"

Mav: "Well, your man wasn't so fortunate, but it could have been a lot worse, Ms. Phipson, a lot worse..."

Quoting clayton Marchetti I'm curious since they traveled to kobol with the cylons why did they just draw down and kill the three cylons. They could have been with the rebel baseship. We know there not but the marines didn't and at this point they did not know what happened to their people. Cool episode I love the night shots makes it very suspenseful.
I suppose they felt like shooting something! The night vision stuff was fun, out in the yard. I'm just glad a skunk didn't sneak up on me to see what I was up to!

Quoting Tim C I'm with Dave, here. That medical Raptor is fantastic. I must also say, that I am a huge fan of BSG, especially with Edward James Olmos as Adama. It was nice at the beginning of this episode to see the ambush on Chief in ABS. Really took me back to the series. May have to run through it again on Netflix. Great story, Barto, and some top notch action in this episode.
Some cutting edge stuff here with the night vision. Stumbling around in the dark in my backyard, no so cutting edge. At least I didn't run into a skunk! Thanks!

Quoting Parrington Levens hahahah, you even put in a shower, a these days 'must have' build amongst a certain small group of us...classic. The dunny scene with the guys saying don't go in there, SO classic, especially as his almost last words, LMAO. That was genius mate, and I loved the medi-raptor, that must have been fun to build. Dude, epic work, so fun to scroll through, awesome... O and the night vision, gorgeous!
Yes, wanted to go back to the show and set up a way for Cylons to still be lurking around, kind of far fetched, but whatever. Had to have a shower, and as you say, it's just something that needs to be done. Thanks for noticing the Medical Raptor, brief appearance in The Plan on Picon. Night vision was fun, but I think I'm moving back inside for the next installment. Thanks, Chief!

Tell me what requirements are you looking for in builds for this rendition. To be honest I couldn't build a decent replica of anything from the shows to save my sorry arse! Maybe here I have a shot with your permission of course.
Thanks, Mike! I started with names from some old friends, then some of the crew here on MocPages, their descendants mind you. I saw your comment over on Marc's page with his rendition of a new Battlestar Frigate. That was a great idea. It depends on what you're interested in, as far as ships or minifig stuff. There are so many things that the discovery of an ancient technology would bring on, and I've only touched on a few...Why don't you start a new thread over in the BSG group!
