Yet another entry for the MOC Athalon and my awesome team the Inglorious ABSt&rds!! Round deux!

This is my entry into the 2011 MOC Athalon.....category is:
5. Forced Perspective:
Any subject matter you wish, but the main focal point must be a forced perspective shot for that is what you will be judged on, how well you depicted the forced perspective. No size restrictions.

The Ames room is really a trick. Your eyes perceive that an object or person on one side of the room is larger than the other.....even though they are both the same size.

You can find more info on it on Wiki here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ames_room

There is actually one of these in the Exploratorium near Bones. If you haven't been Bones, it's a great place for children to learn about Science. That's why I went. Because I'm a child.....not cause I give a hoot about Science. :P

Here we see Phipson on the right appear to be larger. Note that I did not manipulate these photos.

Oh hello there, how are you doing?

As the figures cross paths, you will notice Phipson getting smaller, while his counterpart is getting larger.

Now fully in position, they have swapped (stuff it Phipson!). Chris is smaller while his partner is bigger. (LMFAO dude this is funny, I can't help but laugh!)

And that my friends is how Phipson always starts his night.....from BIG....to small. LMFAO LMFAO

GO ABST&RDS!!!

Well, like Leda said, it is a bit forced, but that's what this category is about, right? Hahaha, I really like this. Clever idea to use 1x1 tiles on the right side.

I see what you are trying to do... but I think the camera angle needed to be perfectly straight so the room had perfect lines without any angle variation to pull this off successfully. The slanted pole in the centre of the room and the fact that the side with the "smaller fig" is not completely horozontal to the "larger fig" distracts me and makes it obvious that one fig is just far away and not small. 3 points.

First, the Exploratorium is a great place, been there twice. Second, I'm going to violate 2 core principles, being serious, and complaining about the judging. This is not only a 5, but should be considered for best entry in category. I did not enter this category because I know most of the community views forced perspective to be a small thing behind a big thing. That is lame. Forced perspective is about lines at angles. I know some of the other entries in this category are lavish builds (Stormbringer, Nannan). But as far as I'm concerned, this entry is the only one true to the point of it.
