Dwarven Clan Wars
Omurtag; a dwarven city at the brink of a great clan war. Only a team of epic heroes can keep this high pressure underground haven from utter chaos.
About this creation
Omurtag: a Dwarven city deep beneath the ground, below the Kingdoms of men. Torrents of magma flow through its heart, and the faces of the old idols decorate its streets and buildings. Dwarves believe their ancestral heroes to be divine and worship them as such. The city was built as a standing monument to Dwarven pride and tradition, but the scene could not be more-different today.
For the last hundred years King Tervel Irongut has been ruling the city as the sole monarch. A direct descendant of Omur Irongut (the founder of the city and a mythological warrior) King Tervel has stuck to traditional Dwarven values and politics for what his people believe is far too long. He has forbidden trade with the surface worlds, as well as social mobility beyond one’s clan. Worse yet, his entire royal guard, and the whole nobility is made up of fellow Irongut Clansmen, a fact that has pushed the rest of Omurtag’s citizen’s to the edge of frustration.
From the tension a prominent clan of smiths and warriors; The Steelcaster Clan, has arisen to lead a rebellion against the King, recruiting numerous craftsmen and traders in a move on the King’s Palace Complex where the Irongut Clan makes its home.
In his frustration and inaptitude, King Tervel summons a group of well-known surface heroes to help him resolve the situation, before there is an all out Clan War.
Asparuh the Warrior, Liarah the Elf, and an Ork sorcerer known only as “Him” have arrived and are the only thing that stands between order, and a bloody war.
As the crowd screams “Down with King Tervel!” and “death to Clan Irongut!” the future of an entire city hangs in the balance.

Great job! This thing has an amazing amount of detail, and looks awesome! By the names of the dwarven clans and their 'religion', I was wondering if you have read any of the forgotten realms books? Just wondering cuz the culture is similar.

Quoting Vohfur Serterun Was one of these photos used in Kaloyan chapter 8?
It sure was! ;) 8th one from the top. I wanted to show the exterior but did not have time/parts to build the whole door scene all over. Since it's the same place I figured I'd sneak it in. Wasn't counting on your eagle eye. ;) Thanks for reading!

the figs are poseable enough, but, by making the floors studless, you lose a lot, i like this piece a lot, but, i too, find the characters too stiff, as for the set, i love it but, i d remove the blue elements, i find it too colorful with it, the sculpture is great, and there splenty of details too!

If MOCpages followed the dwarven rule of worshipping those who have acheived great things, you'd have one of the biggest temples. This is incredible.

Massively brilliant details, but it seems as though they're all just standing doing nothing. They're like, "Yeah! Rebellion! Let's stand holding torches and swords! You guys stink!" And the others are pretty much, "Go away! We hate you! See, I'm even holding my hand out! Yeah!" But anyway, EXCELLENT DETAILS!

Thanks I'm happy you like it! :) To answer your question as to why they are all standing around; Unfortunately, short legs present quite a big problem when it comes to posing minifigures, about the only thing you can do is hang them off of things, or position their arms. Sure would be great to see positionable short legs! ;) Thanks again!

Quoting ARC 113 LOL this is all ideas taken from Dragon Age Origins. The dwarven civil war, the magma, even the name is a namesake from DA:O. Don't get me wrong your creations are awesome and your little intro is interesting but I'd reccomend you give credit where its due for the ideas behind ALL of your creations. I really like the stark white of the entire MOC. Also on your forest ruin MOC I love the water. Unfortunately you even took Morrigan out DA:O and put her in there. But seriously great job.
Hey ARC 113, thanks for checking it out; if you read my description on my page you will see where all of my inspirations come from and while Dragon Age has indeed been a major influence on my ideas, it is far from the only source of inspiration for me. There is a long dwarven mythology that predates video games, and the story of clan wars goes back to the Scottish highland clans in world history. The model is actually light tan not white, and the river of magma is a common theme in most dwarven franchises. As far as the name; Omurtag was a Bulgarian Khan in the 7th century AD. Sorry to disappoint but I put a lot of thought and research into my creations and am way above simply snatching up ideas. Please consider this before accusing me of blatant plagiarism. Thank you :)

Thank you! :) Unfortunately I have not heard of her, this is my own, self derived, trial and error mosaic. I will look her up. Thanks again!
