About this creation
Previously on Battlestar Galactica:
"This is the Commander. We're about to embark on the greatest journey mankind has ever made...You've trained for this, you're ready for this..."

Galactica and the Rebel Cylon Baseship, Kobol orbit.

Maverick: "And with the whole Price in Blood thing, we'll bring down a Marine squad first, before we take any of the Civies or film crews..."
Colonel Watchko: "We don't want any 'a them gettin' underfoot and tripin' off some friggin' antique Cylon booby trap!"

"I see the City of the Gods on DRADIS...Okay team, I hope you've got your seat belts on!"

Raptor 269 on the surface of Kobol.
Commander L. Barto, call sign Maverick, CAG.
Lieutenant D. Boone, call sign Bones, Raptor ECO.
Marine Private C. Corthay, Sniper.
Marine Private T. Bonsch.
Marine Private T. Simon.
Maverick: "Alright, this is a good spot...We've got the City ruins ahead, and past that the mountains up to the Tomb of Athena."

"Kat will stay with the Raptor, we'll be on our own for a couple of days, from the looks of it. I'm sure she'll keep herself occupied..."

"But we need to be on our toes here, there's no tellin' what we'll be runnin' into. Let's move out!"
"Yes, Sir!"

Pvt. Bonsch: "Wow, these must be really old!"
Lt. Boone: "Well duh, didn't you read the briefing? Smarten up and pay attention."
Pvt. Bonsch: "Yes, Sir, sorry, Sir..."

Maverick: "Okay, fan out..."

Crunch

Pvt. Simon: "What's that...?"
Pvt. Corthay: "Ah, probably just the wind...Keep up, Dude!"

Maverick: "So much for our archaeological tour, now comes the real challenge. Eyes and ears, people, eyes and ears."
"Yes, Sir."

Lieutenant Boone: "Great to be outside, it's gettin' pretty rank on the ship..."
Pvt. Simon: "That's because Kat's in your bunk, Sir..."
Pvt. Bonsch: "Nice, that's how it is with the Raptor crews, LT?"

Maverick: "Stay sharp here, this is a great spot for an ambush..."
Pvt. Corthay: "I've got point, Sir"

Maverick: "Let's get to some higher ground, out of this ravine, and we'll make camp."

Pvt. Simon: "Awesome, I'm starving!"

Pvt. Bonsch: "Sir, I see a good spot. Time to fire up the Barbie!"

Lt. Boone: "This is a great...Too bad Kat had to stay with ol' 269..."
Pvt. Simon: "Maybe next time, Sir...You two can get your own private cave!"
Pvt. Bonsch: "Oh..That would be sweet..."
Lt. Boone: "Better than spending the night with Rosy!"
Pvt Corthay: "Ouch!"

Maverick: "This little trip reminds me of when I used to guide at Yosimite...Except instead of all you Goons, it was the UCLA girls volleyball team...But that's a long story..."

Private Corthay: "I'll take first watch, just save me something to eat, eh?"

Bones: "Mmmmm, smells good! What are we having, Commander?"
Maverick: "I don't know, the pack said Shifu Surprise, whatever the frak that is..."
Simon: "Uh, Pass the hot sauce, please."

The next day.
Private Simon: "Sir, I think we're almost there, but..."
Bones: "What is it? You see something, man?"

Simon: "There's something out there, Sir, but it ain't no man..."

Private Corthay: "Dude, What's that supposed to mean? I don't see anything."

Maverick: "Alright, alright, let's keep moving...Probably just a skunk or something..."
Marines: "Yes, Sir."

Bones: "Well, we have arrived at our destination...Not much to it..."
Bonsch: "At least they were nice enough to leave the door open for us..."

Maverick: "I hope none of you guys are afraid of spiders..."

Simon: "Uh, Sir?"

"I am Athena!"

"You have entered what you might understand as a Temporal Nexus, outside of space and time."

"I have watched over you and your wars from the beginning, first on Kobol, and then beyond!"

"You went on to create life again and again, but WE created you..."

"We have told you of the Circle of Time, and that "It has all happened before and it will all happen again...'"

"But you never understood the true meaning of the Phrase, or the Sacred Scrolls..."

"But, uh..."

"And what you do in this Odyssey will determine the fate of all living beings! I will be watching! Now go!"

Maverick: "Well then...Wait 'till they get a load of THIS!"

Loving the scenery shots here! I usually dislike it when people put LEGO in a real-life environment (it seems kinda 'cheap' to me) but you, good sir, have proven that it can be done tastefully and with excellent photography. Thanks for reversing a silly pet-peave of mine!
I know what you mean, but I had seen some stuff on Flickr that really changed my opinion. There's more coming up in the next episode, with night vision! Can't say as I've seen anyone else do that...Thanks! |

Fantastic work! I like how you named the marines after MOCcers, but I definitely wouldn't eat any Shifu Surprise. Brilliant design with the skirt of Athena, and the whole MOC is excellent!
It finally got warm enough for me to go outside and shoot these in my back yard. Glad you liked it! |

I can't believe how well this project has turn out. Incredible pictures, gives a very realistic and alive sensation to the minifigures

these are wonderful pictures! well done! must have been much work to have the minifigs stay put though!
Luckily there wasn't much wind, and the ground was fairly wet, so they stuck pretty well. But lying down in the mud to get a low enough angle was the tough part. Thanks for the comment! The next episode was even trickier... |

I know for a FACT that I left a comment on this. MOC pages must have trashed it. /sigh. I really wish they'd get rid of this filter. It's the worst one ever!!! I wonder how often my comments get deleted and I never know, thinking I commented only for it to disappear. Anywho, great story! I love how you use your real surroundings as background. Finally I found the time to continue reading your story (I've spent some time after work to buy series 4 minifigs). Now I know why you waited for the snow to melt - those outdoor pics look great! I also like how you did Athena's long dress. I enjoy your BSG more and more, especially now with this new charater Pvt. Bonsch. For some reason I like this little guy, though he seems to be a bit clumsy, hahaha.
He's a fine soldier, and hopefully stays out of trouble! Thanks, Dude! |

I have to say some of the jokes just cracked me up, but I do have one very serious problem, one that has made Battlestar Galactica, Battlestar Galactica. You spelled Frak wrong. It is spelled F-R-A-K. That does not however diminish the MOC at all and is why I gave it a 5/5, just thought you might want to know.
Fixed! Oops. Thanks for the comment! |

i think it flows better now,
the inside joke has it s place here,
did you ask where to go?
i want ground fights, with the robots,
i d like your team to be cunning, but, inferior in power,
i d like them to win trough a mix of tactics and chance!
the location could be ancient ruins!
hand to hand fights would be my personnal highlight of this episode, can you do it?
the fight would need at least 10-20 pics alone!
like the training room of the matrix!
Funny you mention that, I had been thinking along those lines this afternoon...Maybe not amongst the ruins, but we'll see. Thanks again! |

Good thing I finished up yesterday, up to 6 inches of snow today! Forced perspective, yes, it took a long time to come up with something halfway decent. I think Athena may have to reappear in future episodes, and not just as an owl... |
