Under the Bed
It was Team '5 Easy Pieces' in the 2011 MOCathalon with 'Under the Bed'! Whaddaya mean it was Ms. Scarlet with the wrench?

5 Easy Pieces

So, this one requires a little bit of explaining... Y'see, the earliest nightmare I can remember is being chased by a flying monster that somehow emerged from beneath my bed (It was around the age before logic had set in and the imagination ran rampant). This also happens to be one of the only ones I can remember. The others aren't nearly as interesting. And seeing as since that time I've discovered a whole new world of things that creep me out (Ah, the power of the interwebs!), I decided to combine two of these things into one nightmarish monster MOC. What are these things you ask? 'Synth'* monsters and flying monsters.
*Synth, as in synthetic. Bio-engineered. Cyborgs.
And dinosaurs.

Y'see, flying monsters scare me because they can strike from anywhere at anytime, and I am nothing if not paranoid beyond reason.
Floor creaks? Zombie apocalypse.

And 'synth' monsters are scary because they have the power of science. Like this one. It has a propeller to help it fly, sensors, and thrusters. Not only can it chase and eat you, it can probably break into your facebook account too.
Ooooh! Scary!

Look at that gaping maw. It can swallow figgys whole!
Omnomnomnom

One final shot.
Goodbye!

4th Dimension Commentary:
This was largely inspired by the Combine Gunship from HL2, which is pretty creepy in its own rights. It's kind of like a cross between a dolphin and a helicopter. Sorry Nannan, I couldn't get any additional limbs to look right.

This is a awesome, and tight construction. Can abstractly see how it stemmed from a source of Nightmare. At your convenience, wherewhereWHERE did that awesome Head piece come from? - I can't recognize it. Looks crocodilian... anyway, Cheers!

The face is excellent. However the rest of the body looks a little unfinished or kind of an afterthought. 3 points.

I like the front half. Back half, not so much. Solid black is a nightmare to photograph. Nice work on the head.
