The Princess Bride is a Classic. End of story. And no other scene from that movie/book is more classic than the duel over iocane. Wesley vs. Vizzini. The Sicilian against the Man in Black. THE BATTLE OF WITS!
About this creation
This is my 16x16 vignette depicting the most classic duel of wordplay of all time. The Man in Black (Wesley) is trying to rescue Princess Buttercup from the evil Sicilian, Vizzini. He has already wrestled Fezzik the giant and won, and dueled Inigo the Spaniard and won. Now he faces the Sicilian in a duel of brains: A battle of wits.
The idea to create this scene was original, but the characters are seemingly loosely based off Max Pointner's creation of the duel with the spainiard, here . It seems like I copied him but he had to include pictures of Buttercup, Vizzini, and Fezzik even when they were irrelevant to is scene. ARG. :)
So although it seems like I copied all his figs, We just happened to think quite similarly but he beat me to the punch. Great job Max!

Here is a zoomed photo of the table with the two glasses and a croissant.

The tree. This was tricky but I am satisfied with the final result.

"You're that smart?"

"Let me put it to you this way: You ever heard of Plato, Aristotle...Socrates?"
*long pause*
MORONS!

Vizzini the Sicilian. I love this figure!

Princess Buttercup. I like how she turned out as well. Her blindfold is a torn sheet.

Wesely/ The man in black. His sword is a standard issue saber and he has Luke Skywalker's body.

The artistic photo. This does several things. One, it looks awesome.
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Two, it shows that Wesely defeated the Sicilian and there is a dark shadow on his face.
MWAHAHAHAHAHAH!
[Sorry. Cheesy humor/random outbursts in honor of William Goldman and everyone who made the Princess Bride so funny.]

"I switched glasses while your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well known is this: Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! Ah ha ha ha ha, ah ha ha ha ha, ah ha..."*dies*. Ha ha! Wow, now my fingers are sore; just typed that all from memory. Brilliant Christopher! |

Ok now that I've calmed down, I can actually comment! The tree is genus, as is the table. The mask on Wessly looks a little sloppy, but it isn't worth dying over. Great Work!
Yes. Now you can see why I tend to stick to more Purist styles. As with Saruman's cape, I just can't seem to make anything right out of customized materials. |
