#4: Guggenheim Museum
My solution to the Lego Guggenheim: Building Details
About this creation
A photo of the official Lego Guggenheim Museum, for comparison.

My original museum, built on 8/1/10. I remodeled it sometime in late December.

The main building (removed below) is part of the body from an airplane set.

A local middle school (of which none currently exist) is taking a field trip to see some Picasso paintings.

UPDATE: I am working on creating a Tribute to Micro Cities of MOCpages. Right now I have permission to use Shannonia but am working on getting about another fifteen cities. If anyone knows of any micro cities or is willing to display their own please let me know. Thanks!

-Paul

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 excellent paul! the saucer parts add a futuristic effect that really looks gorgeous! will the red stripe on the side show once in context? i would hide it if possible! otherwise, fantastic building paul!
The red stripe is only seen when the museum is by itself, but placed within the city it is not noticeable.

Great work on this one Paul! Oh, and least we forget...
Quoting Paul Wellington Hey Chris, as you may or may not know I'm working on a micro city tribute of MOCpages. Right now I'm up to six cities (including permission for Shannonia!) and would like to include your city in the tribute. You would receive full credit and a link to your page. Thanks!
Of course I remember. I would be honored for you to include my micro stuff. Thanks for asking and good luck with the project! Please let me know when you post it! And just in case you'd prefer, here's another choice of mine instead of the Monkey one. Whichever you think is better. Thanks again! http://mocpages.com/moc.php/156151 ~ Chris.

Quoting Nick Pascale I haven't been inside it since I was 25 or 26 a LONG TIME AGO! But when I was in the H.S. of Art and Design we'd go there often. I still prefer the Metropolitan! In any case architecturally speaking I agree with you, I too love the building! And I love how you showed us (or gave a sneak peak) how you did it! No a question have you ever been in it?
Sadly I have not but I plan to go there one day. I think Wright's building are very interesting and you may see some more of his designs incorporated into my MOCs. Thanks for the comment!

Quoting Paul Wellington I was thinking about doing a Micro City tribute for MOCpages and was wondering if I could use one of your images? You would receive full credit and a link to your page. Whatever your decision, thanks.
Of course you may! It would be an honor. Thanks! Also, this building is great! The details, especially the buses, are really good.

Quoting Sam Knavel Great job dude! looks better than the lego set that can be bought! Also, yes, you can use my city!
Thanks Sam. It'll probably take me a few more weeks to gather permission then another week to finish the arrangement and commentary.
