The Minotaur was a being, half man, half bull. He was jailed in a huge labyrinth, but all 9 years people would have to sacrifice him 7 Athenian youths and seven maidens.
The people weren't happy about that, but Theseus came and promised them to kill the Minotaur.
Ariadne, his "girlfriend", gave a thread to him, so he could get out of the labyrinth.
Theseus was successful, killed the Minotaur and came back.
I wanted to take a different approach on this entry, as one would probably use minifigs. I think the Minotaur is a really fascinating creature and a minifig wouldn't do him justice. I wanted to have him anatomically right, musculary and athletic. It was quite a pain, but I'm happy with the result.
I am a huge fan of this story and this AMAZES me because it is so awesome. Theseus's head looks a little strange, but I can't let that take away from the amazing creation that this is. I'm sure we BOTH hope that the judges will like it as much as I do.
Wow that is really nice! Adding some more background would have bumped this to a five but man I gotta tell ya... stunning work! (funny how the sword looks like a butter knife in his hand hehe) 4 VERY solid points! ~ Chris.
Wow, Louis, well worth the wait. The contours of the Minotaur are fantastic and my favorite little detail is the addition of the string, given to Theseus by Ariadne so that he could find his way out of the labyrinth after defeating the beast. Well done, well done indeed.~H
