The newest addition to the Space Police peacekeeping forces: the Storm VPR heavy tactical support ship.
About this creation
While the Raid VPR had proven wildly successful at chasing down felons and defending local spaceways, its only limitation was a lack of ability to transport apprehended criminals back to Space Police Central Headquarters. Standard protocol had a flight of Raid VPRs supported by the Falcon High-Speed Pursuit Vehicle. However, with more and more Falcons being needed to defend the interplanetary hyperlanes from pirate raids, it was clear that a new platform was necessary to fulfill Space Police tactical support requirements.
After months of testing and despite various attempts at sabotage on the part of Blacktron operatives, the first Storm VPR prototypes were field-tested and deemed a success. With its variety of weaponry, ability to transport multiple Commandos to the scene, and dual prison-pods, the Storm VPR was designed with the flexibility to meet almost any threat. Production has since gone full-scale and Space Police Administrators expect mixed patrol squadrons of Raid VPRs and their Storm VPR support ships to swiftly become common sights throughout human-controlled space.

Fourth-Wall Commentary: This was a lot of fun to build and is a ton of fun to swoosh around the house. Inspiration for this goes to the Raid VPR; one of the coolest little fighters ever made by TLG. Also, while I have since seen it on other creations, I got the design/inspiration for the blue/red light bars on top from Marcus Forsberg's Space Police Slave I. Go check it out if you haven't already.
Built in Summer of 2010, but just got around to photographing it. Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!
