This week: 7 variations on the Kleinpanzer frame. Number two is the British copy of the prototype German Exoskelettkleinpanzer.
About this creation

Improved title photo.
Around 1942, a British commando team in Norway stumbled across a secret research facility, wherein some wunderwaffen was being developed. While they couldn't find out what it was, they did manage to abscond with one of the early model Exoskelettkleinpanzers, which had been relegated to second line duties guarding lower end research facilities after the Valkyrie was developed.

The early Kleinpanzers were diesel powered and had their fuel in large fixed shoulder pads, which significantly restricted mobility. Thus, both the Germans and British fitted their suits with shoulder mounted weapons. The Germans tended toward modified MG-34s, but the British took the time to modify their basic 2-inch mortar. When they'd finished with it, it was more of a low velocity autocannon.

The new weapon was self loading from a twenty round magazine, had an effective direct fire range of 400 metres, a lethal shrapnel radius of 20 metres and was related to the old SBML in name only.

The engine was much less efficient than the advanced petrol engine later developed for the Kleinpanzer, and as a result needed far more fuel. On the other hand, said fuel was more likely to burn than explode, which was also unlike the Kleinpanzer. Although getting out of the suit in a hurry was easier said than done.

great work on all your power armors. I love this one for how clean it is and how well the color fits with it but there is one thing that I think seems a little off, the suit should have a more world war era feel to it like more greebles and exposed mechanics in it, which I know is hard because of how small these little fellers are. Yea I kinda contradict myself saying I like the cleanliness whatever though
It's a stylistic thing; I prefer to have fragile, exposed bits INSIDE the armour shell, where they're safe from harm. Some people like greebles, some prefer to have them in more logical, protected locations. |

I'm not really sure what you mean, but I don't trade/sell parts myself. Sorry for disappointing you. You can try Bricklink.com, though, which has extremely low prices for small parts.

I'm not sure where I got that particular one, but I do know they tend to show up in Fire sets like http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/20002-1 and http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/7239-1
Here's the full list of all the sets it's showed up in: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/x171 |

About what I expected. I've come to the conclusion that the world is out to steal my semi-original ideas, unwittingly. |

That's the first time I've seen that. I do know that particular helmet part combination has been done quite a few times in the past, though. |

I agree with the fact that the 30's design may look like the 5's design if he did make 30 of them. It's hard to come up with 30 different designs for these hard suits. |

These are nice! You could make a hardsuit month though.
That would require me to make 30 of them, each obviously different to the next. Day 30's would probably look remarkably similar to day 5's. Umm... nno? |

This hardsuit is also awesome! I really do like the gun and the helmet, they are both original from what I've seen.
It looks like your buddy icon is one of these upcoming hardsuits... if not, all well. |

All I can say is that I am glad I have my own line of hardsuits. These are so tempting to "borrow". I must say, the autocannon is a stroke of genius. I might give something similar to that a shot. Great helmet design, by the way. That I really might copy. Can't wait to see what else you have cooked up! Keep 'em coming!
You're quite welcome, really. I plan to include some pictures of the basic frame on Saturday, but as usual my policy of "if you like it, help yourself" applies.

It is beautiful! You ought to make a small army of these and have them march over the Nazi fools.
