The Ninjago Pull Stick

With this Pull Stick you can boost a Ninjago spinner to very high speeds.

Pull the rip cord to drive the spinner. The small cog wheels fit perfectly between the studs of a spinner. The Ninjago Pull Stick design fits well with the colors of Cole (Lego set 2112).

Left photo: The gear set in the pull stick increases the speed drastically.
Right photo: The spinner can be driven with or without using the top gear. When using the top gear, speeds up to 10.000 rpm can be reached! This is called the Turbo mode. It’s not possible to use minifigures in Turbo mode: they simply will shoot away, due to the high centrifugal forces.

The Ninjago Power Gun

This tool uses Power Functions to drive the spinner.

The Power Gun, can run roughly as fast as the Pull Stick, so 10.000 rpm! Theoretically the M-motor can reach 405 rpm [1]. Three gear sets are used, each with a gear ratio of 3 (24/8 tooth). As a result top speed will be 3 x 3 x 3 x 405 = 10935 rpm.

We measured the speed with a Lego Speed Computer (set number 5206). Unfortunately this computer can’t measure speeds beyond 4000 rpm as we discovered .....

Using the power gun is simple: press the small cog wheels on top of the spinner and start the M-motor to drive the spinner. The spinner speed is controlled by the push force between gun and spinner: the harder you push the gun, the lower the speed will be. After raising the gun the spinner runs on itself. It can run for more than 2:30 minutes on its own!

Film Set of the Dojo

Our film set includes the Dojo of Sensei Wu (Lego set number 2504). However, we made some modifications .....

A plate made of glass is put on top of the green Lego base plates. The spinners run very well on the hard and flat glass plate. Look behind the Dojo and discover a slope! It’s made from Lego set 4586 “Stunt Race Track”. The spinners fit nicely into this track.

Ninja Girl makes a Turbo Spin, runs down the hill ..... and smashes herself right through the doors of the Dojo! Watch the video to see how that works.
If you watch closely, you can see that Ninja Girl is assembled out of two minifigures from the Lego Minifigures Serie 3 collection (8803).

hey, do you know about cuusoo?its the site where people vote for sets that people like us enter, and if a project gets 10,000 supporters lego reviews it,and if it's good,lego makes it a set,so just make...but you gotta be thirteen. Im a HUGE ninjago fan and if i could buy that,I WOULD or...could you please please please make instructions on youtube on your channel or a tutorial...thx powerfusion

Quoting Dragon Mama my elder 2 sons (ages 7 and 4) are obsessed with BeyBlades, and they've injured one another with the rip cord things on those (because no matter how many times they're reminded to watch their aim and point only downward toward the "arena" they still "accidentally" aim at each other's faces instead). This is MUCH less potential for injury from what I can tell. I'm trying to wean them off BeyBlades onto Ninjago, if we can figure out how to make the manual pull one then this might really help that effort. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Cyberfrank, Thankx for your great reaction! During our movie shoots we indeed started with 2 Ninjago's who were in a battle. However, they destroyed our scene before we could make a proper video of it..... So we decided to continue with 1 spinner.
