The latest addition to the Alaskan Armed Forces, the AH-4 Wasp, name credit to Kaiser Pharoah Cliffe, has been unveiled to the public. This small tilt rotor packs a punch, with five full-strength hardpoints and a 30mm machine gun. This can be replaced by a 7.62mm minigun for anti-personell use. This armament comes at a cost though, and the Wasp is relatively un-armored, with the thickest armour sheilded around the pilot and fuel tank. The fuel tank is wrapped in expanding rubber to swallow up bullets up to 23mm. The canopy is made of high quality polycarbonate, being able to bounce slightly and deflect small arms fire and shrapnel. The twin-rotor configuration makes the AH-4 highly maneuverable. The large fuel capacity and high speed give this craft over twice the range of a standard helicopter, able to fly from Alaska to Kuaui without refueling. Due to it's longer legs, the Wasp will be stationed on the Alaska Navy's LCS Combat Ships. Now for some pics... I hope they're self explanatory, 'cuz I'm not going to put captions on now. This Wasp is loaded with a centerline pod of 125mm rockets, two unguided bombs, six laser-pointer guided anti-tank missiles, four tube-launched anti-armour missiles, and a circular pod of 80mm anti-infantry rockets.
Sorry about the poor quality, I'll try to get better when I have a better camera available.
