Team Savage gerbils entry to the 2011 MOCathalon category, Myths, Legends and More.
About this creation
Go Savage Gerbils!
Here is my entry in category 11. Myths, Legends and More.
I made the scene where Bellerophon is sent to go kill the Chimera, a fearsome beast with the head of a lion, body of a goat, and tail that is a snake and can breathe fire. Traditionally, the Chimera does not have goat hind legs, but I thought that the midsection did not add enough goat. With the help of Pegasus, Bellerophon is able to kill the monster.
the fight. Bellerophon flies out of reach of the fire and uses his arrows to assault the beast.
The fearsome Chimera. am really proud of the brick built head. I think that the black mane turned out well, as did the brows above the eyes.
Bellerophon, our gallant hero!
Another view of their fight.
The beast. Purty cool, if I may say so myself. One of my favorite details is the front claws, held by a rubber band. A small but cool detail.
The head. Grrrr.
The body. Less grrr.
thesnake tail. I really like how this turned out as well.
I hope that this build can get my team off to a fun, good month of building. I have faith in the abilities of all of my team members and hope that they feel the same. :P
Thanks to the judges, for I know that they have tiring 4-ish weeks in front of them.
I want so so much to give this a four because I think the Chimera is superb and I love your design of Pegasus' wings. I am perfectly happy with the blandness of the plate with the few tufts of grass as it is a great place to display the epic positioning of Bellerophon, excellent action captured there. However, where you are lacking is the rock work, it needs some work and I must judge the entire scene as a whole. A reluctant 3.
Not bad. I agree with Heath that the background could have had a bit more to it. Woulda givin ya that extra point too... But as it stands, for the clever brick usage on the head especially, you get 3 points. ~ Chris.
