Barracuda's Quarters
Team Eurobricks 17. A Pirate's Life
About this creation
2011 MOCathalon

Barracuda is a true old seadog; originally a gunner aboard the HMS Falstaf, he soon grew tired of the lack of plunder, and jumped ship in Tortuga, no less. Encountering fierce native tribes and mysterious Eastern seas, he gradually rose to captainhood, as the years grew as long and grey as his hair. A meticulous - if verging on shambolic - type, he is an ept commander, valuing above all his tactical expertise and cunning.
A man of fine taste, his quarters reflect both his character and past - functional and sturdy, but not lacking in glamour or flamboyance where indulged.

Thanks all =) And thanks to the judges.
Quoting Gnilrednu ( J. Beckwith ) Excuse my ignorance, but I've never see that piece that's sitting on the table next to the map before. From which set does it come from?
It's a bit cheeky, really - it's the centre of one of these - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=62520 - just pulled apart.

Barney, man, you could fall axe-backwards out of bed, hung over, and get a 5 in this category. Remarkable as usual.

Shiver me plastic! She's a beauty! Wow! So many details, and such character in this vignette! Everywhere you look, there's some genius little feature that escaped you on first glance. The seagull technique is awesome, the broken-edge base gives such a great feel to the MOC, and the cannon is by far the best part. I hope you do well in the MOCathalon, and keep up the awesome work!

Your attention to detail here is superb. It is full with character. The shrunken head hanging on the wall gave me a real chuckle. I cannot fault it in relation to the category description. Your presentation is excellent and your build is well crafted and very fine indeed (although I'd love to see some more pics of all the individual items and how he acquired them...). Lots to look at in this build, lots for the eye to explore and each item seems to fit well with the Captain's back-story. 5

Very nice entry! Like all the details you added! But you have to put in the link to the group page within 24 hours - I won't give you a 0 for such a nice entry... So far - Score = 4
