LEGO Halo Falcon v.2 on LDD
Falcon: The Warthog of the skies just got some new wheels. I mean wings. I mean rotors.
About this creation
I'm BAAAAAAAAACCK! Just thought i would stop by to add another creation, since I've been all lethargic and all. So far things have been rather boring for my page: less views on my creations, no one signing up for the comic anymore...but that doesn't stop me from adding more stuff! After being pleased with the second version of my Ghost, I am proud to present another tweaked creation, which happens to be my most popular: the Reach Falcon!

Why, you may ask? Many things made me mad about my old Falcon, even though it looked good. First of all, there was no cockpit, which almost took away from the jet-helicopter feel the Falcon brings. Second of all, while the outside was nice, the inner woodwork (in other words, the connections and stability) was a total mess and I'm sure that if someone bought it, it would fall apart. I have since fixed these problems in my v.2. Enjoy!

Here's a Phantom view of my new Falcon. It looks so much more complete with the cockpit! Yes, I know, these two cockpit pieces are the only two that are not buyable from LDD: they had to be added on Universe first. You may also notice that I elongated the tail and made the two "wings" a little bit more slopey.

Banshee view! I think the Falcon's gonna rip that poor 'Shee apart in seconds with that frontal cannon. Yes, I do realize that the Falcon is about a stud or two too short, but that's okay: It still looks good.

A side view of the Falcon, and yes, I realize the cockpit is almost completely invisible because of the white background this is on. Anyways, this is still the best picture in the group and its also my favorite.

A shot of the cockpit. Basically, the whole nose part for the Falcon, the tail (albeit elongated), the rotors, and the grenade launchers are all the same as the last Falcon. Because I liked them that much.

Yeah, I sorta cheated by taking that 2X2 slope out so the frontal cockpit part would open all the way, but I just wanted to show you guys what the inner guts of the Falcon's cockpit looks like.

Some smooth tiles sloped upwards, and the engine pods. I must say, although it's not studless (or SNOT, for that matter), this way of doing the roof was much better than the old way.

Shot of the rotor: nothing new here.

A shot from the back, probably a Banshee. I tried to figure out a way to get those boosters in the right place, but even still they are too high up on the back tail...

A shot of the tail, sporting its new elongated tailfins and its longer body than the last.

Here's a shot of the two comfy seats facing the tail of the Falcon. I should have anticipated that minifigures can't sit there, because the are too tall sitting upright so that their heads go into the sloped ceiling closer to the cockpit. I think the best way of fixing that is moving the seats one stud away from the wall.

The grenade launcher stayed the same by popular demand, because apparently EVERYONE liked it. However, I changed around its connection points a bit, so now, there is a seat so a minifigure can sit there, and the grenade launcher also rotates up and down about 60 degrees as well as its ability to spin.

Alright, here's the inner woodwork, not so much "inner" anymore because it's visible. It's a complicated grid of beams and connection points and robot hands, all angled to just the right point to support the back to the front, the front to the roof, and the back to the roof. It's much better than the feeble back-only connection point on the last one, but I'm still concerned on its ability to hold without falling apart.

Landing gear, while on the ground.

The landing gear folds up in flight!

While one grey man sits and enjoys the ride, another one is feverishly firing EMP grenades on anything that doesn't look human from his position.

Another shot of the connection beams, the fin connection, and the booster.

And there you have it! I hope this falcon gets a lot of views, because in my opinion, this one is so much better than my last. And yes, this falcon is completely up to modding by commenters who say so, but just remember to give me credit.

And you should also check out my Halo LDD comic! Im looking for new people to sign up so that it's ready by summertime, so i recommend you check it out here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/249964. Thanks!

Hey! I bought the parts to the falcon through pikabrick and just finished building it today. It looks great, but there are issues. 1. the wings are way to flimsy. 2. the tail fins barely stay on. 3. the body of the rotors can't really rotate w/out popping out, and w/ the weak wings, it really isn't an option anyway. 4. the panels on the cockpit have only 1 stud connections, but they stay on ok. 5. the 2 seats can't sit minifigs! It looks great and maybe i'll post pics later. Thanks!

Nice Falcon, I like the guns a lot. They're good for smaller scale Falcons. Good work!

I just love the shape of this ship. You got a lot of great details going on in there. The mounted side guns look great.I would Try using a few slopes on the top part instead of tiles. It will give it more of a hull feel.

Quoting Ben Romeo Looks great! Even though I've never seen one before... But based on your other stuff, I'm assuming It's pretty accurate.
It is pretty accurate, at least compared to the others on the Pages, but it is a bit squat and short and some of the parts, like the roof, are too thin and need to be beefed up. Glad you like it!
