The Siege of Buda-Pest 29 December, 1944 - 13 February, 1945.
About this creation
The Siege of Budapest was fought in 1944 as part of the Soviet Budapest Offensive. Budapest is the capital city of Hungary and was defended by German and Hungarian soldiers against a Soviet and Romanian Army. The siege lasted from 29 December, 1944 - to 13 February, 1945 and was one of the bloodiest battles of World War II. The battle ended with and unconditional Axis surrender with Budapest lying in ruin.

This diorama depicts the Soviet troops crossing one of the last bridges across the Danube River to assult the German held Buda Castle.
