This is the Core Fighter from the anime OVA Mobile Suit Gundam 0083. The Core Fighter is a modular fighter that fits inside the torso of a Federation Gundam mobile suit. It acts not only as the cockpit for the Gundam but also doubles as an escape pod of sorts if the Gundam is about to be destroyed. I wanted to try and build a Core Fighter that could fold up, but I don't have the right parts. 03/02/2011: I made some changes to the fighter and updated this entry with new photos.
