My very latest rendition of the classic American handgun features an improved receiver/slide that has been smoothed out and better shaped to resemble the real thing. (My last version was rather bulky in this area.) I've also added a curve to the rear of the handle, officially making the model the -A1 variant of the weapon which is much more appropriate for my WWII guns collection; from 1924 onwards, the M1911A1 was the standard version of the pistol. The trigger, I'm afraid, is still non-moving, as I haven't yet found a way to fit in a spring mechanism next to the gun's magazine-carrying, diagonally-mounted, and slightly fragile pistol grip (perhaps I'll be able to solve this in a fifth version...).
[Overall dimensions: 8.4" long, 1.5" wide, and 5.8" high (from bottom of grip to top of slide).] This version completed: 2/6/2011. Model Status: Currently Built.

Hmm....I coulda sworn I had this in my Favorite Creations folder.....,NO actually I had legohaulic's...reguadless. This is one of the best takes of this gun on this site.
Wow this is awesome! I'm planning on posting a lego Colt 1911a1 soon. I really like how you made the top of the slide, I wanted to do that to mine, but I didn't have enough of those cheese slope pieces.
