very original, lighting experiments always light a smile on me, i also loved the theme, western, you did a great job on this landscape!
i keep practicing to do as good, not easy! i would have loved if you d try the gold deep in a dark cavern, the effect sould be fantastic there as well, good show bones!
Funny you should say that, the original plans were for the gold vein to be in a cave, I have two of the light bricks in there that I was going to use to light it up, but....I forgot to build the cave. Smart of me huh? |

You've given me a lot of superb advice of how to improve on my own builds, I like to think I've taken that to heart (or in this case to the brick) I like to return the favor. I like how you built the gold into the rock but one that kinda bothers me is just how busy the environment looks. With so much going on there is no one point that the eye can focus and be happy, instead its moving around so much that it notices few details. Maybe this is how these places looks for real, but it seems like there are way to many plants for the location. If you cut down on them I think this would look incredible.
John, I must agree with you on the busy aspect. It is funny how I looked over these pictures and thought the same thing, yet when I looked at the build in person, it did not strike me so. I think a bit less going on and better camera work would have helped. Thanks! |

load, not lode. nice, otherwise!
Check your facts before you try to correct.
Mother lode is a principal vein or zone of veins of gold or silver ore. Look it up, but thank you for the comment all the same. |

Great rock work, and I definitely love the gold vein. The only suggestion would be to try and cover up the hollow studs, as they tend to steal your eye's attention.
I agree on the holes. I need more small 1x1 snot and practice. |

This is so rich in details, like the little streamlet for example. The lightning in the first pic is great, but my favourite is the one under your sentence "Not much to say...". This is pure gold, hehehe.
Thanks, that was also my favorite picture. I experimented with photo editing on a few pics as well, some are too bright, oh well. |

From the first shot I thought there was going to be a golden shower joke in this moc... It's sad that I've sunk this low, really it is. Great work on the landscape! Lots of little details in there like the cheese slope work and what not. Nice one! ~ Chris.
OK, that did cross my mind, but then I decided to do a regular build with no innuendo.....we need help for even thinking about that! |

I'll quickly dispose of a pet peeve of not liking painted base thingies, and move on to this: you no longer get to claim you are just getting your feet wet with a category you are not good at. This rocks! Landsacpe duly added to Bones' portfolio.
Thank you kindly Sir. |
