The Battle of Thermopylae was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states ,led by Sparta,and the Persian Empire of Xerxes I over the course of three days.

About this creation

Xerxes sends a messenger to talk with the Greeks.
Messenger-This is what Xerxes says:Lay down your weapons,are arrows will block out the sun.

Dienekes a Spartan soldier says his famous line-We shall fight in the shade.

Deeded ask Leonidas one more time to lay Down their weapons.
Leonidas-Come and get them!

1st Day

The Persians charge with their spears and wicker shields.

Persian flesh meets with Spartan spears and flesh.

The Persian fulfill their promise to block out the sun but ,hardly any arrows get through the Spartan phalanx.
2nd Day

Xerxes sends the Immortals.,soldiers chosen for their skill and bravery.

They meet the same fate as the first wave.

3rd Day

Spartans fall.

A few Spartans throw their spears and draw their swords.

A Persian targets Leonidas with his spear,

and the spear finds it's mark.

Dead to the last man.

thanks to you i just had a major history 300 heartattack!!!! i am blown away two comments (a) Leonidas was kiled by 3 Persian aroows not a spear (b) not many people know that it was actually more like the last stand of the 1,200. around 900 other Greeks stayed behind including Denesans and Thebians so there wasnt just 300 Spartans. although it makes a wonderfully bloody battle! i know this comment sounds neggative bitt im a huge Ancient Greek fan and this was good you have to do alot of research to actually figure out what i told you in 3 sentances. P>S> i didnt have a heart attack long live Sparta and Athens!!!!
