BSG The Next Chapter Mav's Quarters
Officers and Enlisted aboard the Battlestar Galactica occupy the ship in a manner similar to that of the original crew before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. Senior Officers enjoy private accommodations, whereas Junior Officers, Pilots, Deck Crews, and Marines bunk in group quarters based on their duties aboard ship.
About this creation

CMDR Leonard Barto, Call Sign Maverick, Commander Air Group.

LT Chettina Kuo, Deck Chief and Viper Engineer.

Kuo: "Busy?"

Mav: "Nah, just going over duty rosters, looking over the profiles on some of our Civilian Guests...Some serious nerds! Oh, I made you some tea...Thought you might drop by..."

Kuo: "How about that poker game? Jeremy really knows how to push Doug's buttons, eh?"

Mav: "Well, that has to be a little weird, his ex wife mixed up with that G.A.I.A. crew...At least they're over on the Baseship."

Kuo: "He's a bit unstable if you ask me..."

Mav: "But he's George's XO. They go back a looooong time...Almost as far back as we do!"

Kuo: "My parents don't go back as far as they do..."

mav: "Now, now! Don't get touchy!"

Kuo: "Oh, I'm just exhausted. Those bunks are miserable...Especially on Taco Night..."

Mav: "Sounds like that scene in Blazing Saddles...Too bad everybody can't fly First Class...Oh well! Things were definitely better back in San Diego..."

Mav: "I thought I felt a draft..."

Mav: "You left the hatch open! Wouldn't want anyone interrupting our solitude..."

Kuo: "Hey, while you're at it, why don't you just go ahead and lock it..."

Quoting Kermunklin the Giant Evil House Head Cool hatch doors. I know this was made before the LEGO Movie, but it takes place long after the LEGO Movie was released. Don't they know what Taco night REALLY means?
Probably more like the scene in Blazing Saddles, at least that's what I had in mind.

Quoting Tim C Good stuff, Barto. When I have time, you keep me coming back to try to catch up to you. I like the Maverick character, (though, I'm sure that's by design. Significant naming and all that). And it looks like it was a lucky night for him this time;) The quarters look great. Talk to you again at the end of the next episode.
Just posted a new one! Thanks, Tim!

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Impressive! I like how you built the quarters, utilitarian yet ingenious. Nice reference to Blazing Saddles, I have had the (mis)fortune of watching that. Great work!
I build it utilitarian, with the personal items for decor, just like the show. It's not a Federation cruise ship, like the Enterprise. Thanks again!

Quoting Paul Romano Like Hans said below me, fabulous mood-lighting! You've inspired me to bust out a few old spot lights of mine and fool around with various lighting techniques. Great work, and thanks for one "light-bulb" of an idea! :D
Thanks again, Paul! Another tip when doing sets like this it to get some of those big grate pieces, or just have some beams going across above the characters to create light patterns on the floor.

Gotta agree with Hans: the lighting in this episode is stupendous! You've inspired me to fool around with some spot lamps. Its really interesting what you can do with them! Great job!

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy Questions upon questions. Why does the interior look so cool? What's the frog doing there? Do we learn where those little minifigs come from?
Yes, yes, quite perplexing...The frog goes with the diving theme, swim fins, goggles, spear gun. His Speedo is in the drawer :)

Quoting William Vandyk I love your attention to detail and the balance you've struck - the room sets have enough features to make them feel real, alive and lived in but not so much to distract from your incredible story telling.
That's exactly what I was trying to imitate from the show. Thanks for the kind words!

Quoting Aidan Bryant Very cool interior man, I love that big heavy door. I've been designing a large scale ship, and coming up with interior stuff can be hard, since I want something that looks good, but isn't part intensive, since if I were to build the entire ship some day, it would have to be duplicated more times than a sane person ever should. Odd that I never thought about using hinge bricks, but I was toying with a descending door idea, before I realized how difficult and space consuming that would be.
I try and recycle as much as I can, like the door. I built two for the CIC, but they are independent builds that I can move around. The hinges are a little tricky because they do let light through, but that can easily be managed. Thanks for the comment and good luck with your project!
